In the US I noticed that if you are good at something they want you. They facilitate your work because they want good people.
And also they tend to give same opportunities to everyone.
Random example that comes to my mind is, in the US you can go to open tryouts for NBA teams.

One thing I hate about Europe is that there is no meritocracy and there is no equal treatment for everyone!
In Europe you either know someone, or your dad is someone. Otherwise you gotta fight to get the same things that others get without hustle.
