Everytime I ask myself how much higher can we go, I just look at Lutnik, Bessent, Warsh, and the orange man and remind myself that we are just starting to remove all the safeguards put in place from the lessons of the last 30 years. https://t.co/WQ9LsCNu09
@DarioCpx Remember any selloff in the am does not affect VIX, then the 0DTEers will start buying calls and wala, VIX down again. When you have a market that puts everything into stocks, what do you expect? No more bonds or crypto buying.
@nickgerli1 One fact that took me a really long time to figure out, is that many homeowners who purchased with sub 4% rates in the last 4-5 years and sell for a loss have a lower monthly payment than the new homeowner who picked up the home at a discount.
@TimmerFidelity diversify where? something undervalued? Burry keeps saying this too, but look at big stocks in each sector and you see 35 P/E 40 P/E everywhere, which was NOT the case in 2000.
I think one of the reasons why $VYM $SCHD were bought while Situational Awareness was going down late July is no one was buying bonds. In June and lead up to war bonds were bought, but not this time.
I can think of a few problems with this, and I am usually a "big picture" guy too. Sometimes a few details are important. Like what if demand slips just bit? What if competitors emerge that only want 25% margin instead of 75%? What if useful life is only 4 years instead of 10?
Circular financing is only a problem when the circle is financing something nobody actually wants.
If the underlying product delivers real economic value and real end user demand, the circle pays for itself.
If it doesn’t, the circle breaks.
@Mr_Derivatives well, they are really really trying first pushing up the MAGS now trying for the SOXX DRAM, so you gotta assume that $QQQ is the next to reach all time highs before $NVDA earnings.
They piled into $SCHD $VYM stocks as a hedge against the AI stocks and hyperscalers while rates were rising. And you wonder why we are at all time highs.
If you call out Burry for the $1 price target on $PLTR for being crazy, you need to also call out Raymond James target on $SPCX for $800 as crazy. It's part of being a rational investor/trader.
I'm not a permabear, but the latest rally that got SPX to ath was a little sus, and they keep using oil pullbacks to push everthing higher, doesn't seem organic. But if the powers that be keep it up we could be at SPX 8K in no time.
