Metal panels are up on the awning. First time installing a standing seam roof. What pops doesn't know he quickly figures out.
Going to install the chicken door this afternoon. That should be easy.
Little by little...
I also can’t stop thinking about the escort who brought SSgt Michael Swinton home.
Long after the cameras leave, one service member remains beside a fallen brother, ensuring he is never alone on his final journey home.
One of the military’s most sacred duties.🙏🏼
🚨 BREAKING: Authorities have arrested 37-year-old Aaron Farinacci, a convicted felon, on first-degree arson charges in connection with the devastating Old Trails Fire near Spokane, Washington.
Investigators say a witness spotted a man acting suspiciously near where the fire began. Farinacci was initially questioned and released, but was later arrested as investigators uncovered additional evidence. He was allegedly found with matches and a lighter and is being held on $1 million bond.
The wildfire has already destroyed more than 700 structures, forced tens of thousands to evacuate, and remains 0% contained as crews battle multiple fires across Spokane County.
Day 532…
Weeny is still investigating the exact same spot in the creek.
Every single day, he walks straight to it, starts barking an and pawing, and refuses to leave.
So weird…
I still have no idea what has his attention… but whatever it is, it’s been there for over 500 days.
What do you think he’s trying to tell me? 👀🌊🐾
We HATE doing this... but as the largest police news outlet in the world, we have a duty to fight for good cops... but also call out BAD ones. And this? What a friggin' mess.
A legally blind Navy veteran was arrested after a deputy mistook his cane for a gun.
On October 31, 2022, James Hodges, then 61, was walking home in Lake City, Florida, after jury duty was canceled.
Deputy Jayme Gohde stopped him, believing the folded mobility cane in his back pocket was a handgun. Hodges immediately showed her it was a cane.
When he refused to provide identification and demanded the officers’ names and badge numbers, Sgt. Randy Harrison ordered him arrested for resisting without violence. Hodges spent time in jail before the charge was dropped.
Sheriff Mark Hunter called the deputies’ conduct “unacceptable” and publicly apologized.
Gohde received a two-day suspension without pay.
Harrison was demoted, given a seven-day suspension without pay, and barred from raises or promotions for two years. Both were ordered to complete remedial civil-rights training.
Hodges later filed a civil rights lawsuit that was settled out of court. A Navy veteran doing nothing wrong ended up in handcuffs over a white cane.
Sorry - but some people just shouldn't be cops.

James Duckett was executed in Florida today, after 38 years on death row.
You read that right: 38 YEARS.
Duckett was a rookie officer on-duty for Mascotte Police Department in Lake County, Florida, when he abducted, raped, and murdered 11 year old Teresa Mae McAbee in 1987.
Following his arrest, he was investigated for 2 other unsolved murders in the area that occured in 1986 and '87. Jeanifer Shyan Weldon 14, and Ronette Lynn Peterson, 22, were both killed in Polk County, FL. No arrests have been made in either case.
Duckett made no final statement before his life was ended by lethal injection.
After spending hours at the police department, Rookie Alexa Popcorn was given the chance to display his new found skills of reciting the phonetic alphabet & backing up using side mirrors in front of the entire shift. He was first taken outside to a large parking lot, where he stood proudly with his masking tape name tag next to his vehicle. He was told to get inside & using only his side mirrors, to successfully back into 3 parking spaces while running his police lights. Prior to starting, he announced over the PA system "I am rookie Alexa Popcorn & I can do this". Amazingly, he was successful.
He was then taken inside to the men's locker room, where he stood on a step ladder & again announced "I am rookie Alexa Popcorn & I can do this!" & in a clear & loud voice, recited the Phonetic alphabet from Alpha all the way to Zulu. The entire shift clapped for Rookie Alexa Popcorn.
For his outstanding efforts, he was presented with a Certificate of Achievement with his name "Alexa Popcorn" proudly printed on it. He was then presented with a box of generic popcorn (because the name brand stuff isn't for rookies) & given a $10 Amazon Gift card to purchase his own Alexa (Cuz rookie salary cap is 10 bucks).
Finally, to end the ceremony, Rookie Alexa Popcorn removed his masking tape name tag & placed it on his clothes locker where it will stay until he successfully completes training & becomes a real policeman.
I then explained to Rookie Alexa Popcorn that if we didn't like him, we'd probably still do what we just did, but he'd never have gotten popcorn or a gift card.🙂
The rookie smiled. We clapped👮♂️🚔
Its time for the Chonk Lord o'the Woods weekly weigh-in.
His Chonkiness is 114.6 lbs at 7 months 3 weeks old.
The bigger news is that he caught his first treat this week and can now consistently catch treats :)
Also, can you see the grey coming in above the tan patches on his chest? Hes starting to get his mantle, we will see how much of one he gets.
Well, I have some news that's going to make some people uncomfortable...
My wife and I are pulling our youngest out of North Carolina public schools and my wife will be homeschooling him.
And no, we're not sorry about it.
We didn't come to this decision lightly. We prayed on it, argued about it, ran the numbers, lost sleep over it.
But every road led back to the same common theme: nobody on God's green earth loves that boy more than his mother and I do, and nobody is more responsible for who he becomes than us.
Yet, rather ironically, despite believing this somewhere along the way, we handed that responsibility to strangers and... trusted them with it.
His mind. His values. His time. His education. His TRUTH.
...and this past year, for the first time, we stopped and asked whether they'd earned that trust.
We don't think they did.
So we're taking it back.
Yeah, we're scared. Scared we'll get something wrong. Scared of the workload. Nervous about what people will say.
But I'll take the fear of us doing it ourselves over the quiet horror of watching our son be indoctrinated in utter BS woke nonsense and be laughed at for believing in God and mocked for liking President Trump (all of which occurred this year.
So yeah, he's going to read the hard books. The ones they'd rather he didn't.
He's going to learn history that hasn't been run through an anti-White woke filter.
He's going to know exactly where he comes from and what he believes.
Most importantly, he's going to grow up watching his mother choose him, to spend every day, all day with him, over what was easy.
They had their shot. They blew it.
We've got him from here. 🇺🇸
