@TomGardner18@OromiaTimes Well explained- none properly explained and all assassinations conducted in a similar way. RIP is no longer enough- justice is demanded.
Update: The #UK joins growing local and international calls for full investigation into the murder of #OLF Political Officer, Bate Urgessa
The government of the United Kingdom has said it echoed a call by Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (@EthioHRC) “for a prompt, impartial, and full investigation into the killing of Batte Urgessa, with perpetrators held to account.”
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) UK Ambassador to Ethiopia, Darren Welch, said the UK also called for “justice and accountability” and emphasized that “political dialogue is needed to end the cycle of violence affecting civilians in #Oromia.”
Bate, an outspoken politician and a well known critic of the Ethiopian government, was shot and killed in his hometown #Meki, in East Shoa zone of Oromia region, on Tuesday night after he was forced out of his hotel room. His body was later found dumped by a road side.
EHRC was the first in calling for "a prompt, impartial and full investigation by both the Oromia regional and Ethiopian federal authorities to hold perpetrators to account.”
The statement by the UK government today adds up to previous local and international stakeholders’ calls for independent investigations into the murder of Bate including by the U.S. State Department and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
This is not a drama or a movie you are watching. There are 9 innocent Oromoo youth who were brutally killed after being taken out of church service by fascist & terrorist #AbiyRegime's force in Gidama district of western #Oromia. Holy Bible not gun. Why do they get killed?
You don't have to be a ‘political genius’ or a sharp ‘military analyst’ to figure out that the #FanoVigilantism is a lost cause.
Just look how they couldn't even describe their enemy simply. Is it the ‘Abiy army, Shene, Oromumma, OromoPP, ONAG, Prosperity, or OPDO army’ folks?
