@HMRCcustomers My colleague has got his payslip through with tax code L21 and the deduction was twice more. Payroll advised to contact hmrc. Please advise.
@HMRCcustomers Yes. It says my current tax code is 1064LX. Also in the letter says Im likely to owe £180 in tax but in the website im paying the the right amount?
@HMRCcustomers
I changed my job back in Sep and received a letter my tax code was changed from 1257L to 1064L.
I have just received my p45 handed to the new job but they cant do anything about it asking me to contact HMRC. Pls advise.
@HMRCgovuk hello my new employer is claiming home allowance on my behalf. The employment started in Nov 2022. I can see my code had been 1257 L until my recent pay slip in March 2023 it changed to 1288L. How do I go about changing back to 1257L please.
@HMRCcustomers Accessed the link, logged in but it says “you are not eligible to set up a payment plan online” just to reconfirm the outstanding payment is called simple assessment tax and it needs to be paid by May. Would our best option be to call HMRC?
@HMRCcustomers Thank you. So if his main job is now under self employment (started Oct 2022), would his 2nd job tax code be 1257L or BR tax code, please? How do we go about updating the record?
@HMRCcustomers No sorry. He still has 2 jobs. He changed his main job (which waa correctly taxed - no issue) and still keeps his 2nd job. He got a huge tax assessment bill just now which made him realise he wasnt taxed or taxed correctly on his 2nd job.
