Save Forest Lake campaign lives! House votes, 183-181 to tack 2-mile buffer between state parks and landfills (HB 177) onto unrelated, Senate-passed bill (SB 103). Senate had killed separate bill last month. #nhpolitics
This is the most amazing news ever. We have the best representatives fighting for our state and I have never been more proud to be from NH! #NHPolitics#NHPoli
Sen Avard states hb177 “would have a devastating ripple effect on municipalities and their solid waste costs.” 0 proof behind this and NHDES has never supported this claim. More manipulation tactics by a major waste company. NH will suffer as a result. #SaveForestLake#NHPolitics
@GovChrisSununu A similar photo taken at Forest Lake State Park in Dalton. In Forest lake one might catch Brown Trout, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brown Bullhead, Largemouth Bass, Chain Pickerel, Calico Bass and Bluegill. #SaveForestLake#StopNorthernTrash#NHPolitics
@TeamRebeccaNH thank you very sincerely for supporting HB177. Thank you for so much for your genuine love of NH! We may not have won today but it’s wonderful to know that we have some great people representing us! #NHPolitics
@andrew_bouldin Thank you from bottom of my heart for all of your tireless efforts. You truly care about the state of New Hampshire and it shows. You have my vote and utmost confidence in you any day!
@michaeledward64@MichelleResists@KlandriganUL If you thought this was a case of NIMBY, you literally haven’t been paying attention. Seriously haven’t stopped shaking my head. Just wow.
"I am very disappointed that the Senate chose to kill HB 177. We’ve all learned during this horrific pandemic that access to safe and pristine natural settings is extremely important to maintain our collective mental and physical well-being." - Rep. Edith Tucker #NHPolitics
HB177 was a bipartisan common sense bill that placed New Hampshire and its future first. The State of NH decided today that it valued money and corporate greed over the health and safety of its citizens. Sad sad day. #NHPolitics#HB177#StopNorthernTrash
Truly disconcerting that the majority of senators in NH actually believed the lies that a major corporation with a history of dishonesty told them about landfill capacity in NH & ignored the will of THOUSANDS of constituents. Wow. I feel sick. @avard_kevin#NHPolitics#HB177
But... Wimsatt is pressed by Sen. Avard about claims NH is in a waste management "crisis." Wimsatt says no, Turnkey landfill for example has permitted capacity until 2034. He says as director he has always been "loathe" to respond to questions about capacity in that context.
Also, this company made the same financial promises to Bethlehem and ended up COSTING the tax payers money. Dalton is mostly low income & highly susceptible to this kind of manipulation. They know this. It’s horrible. We must work together to #stopnortherntrash@GovChrisSununu
This company is clearly expressing that they have ZERO respect for the wishes of the community. & this is in the phase where they are still trying to impress people. I don’t even want to imagine how they would act if they were allowed in. @GovChrisSununu@AnnMcLaneKuster#NH
Despite strong opposition at Tuesday’s Littleton town elections and a lawsuit that questions the legitimacy of its permits, a Vermont company says it’s moving forward with a landfill in Dalton. ...

Littleton is a great model of a town strategically combining manufacturing and healthcare jobs, downtown small business, and outdoor recreation lifestyle into a highly attractive place to live and work for the Nextgen North Country. #NHeconomy https://t.co/GAKV47hhBE
Living near landfills statistically can cause disease with adverse health effects such as birth defects, cancer, respiratory illnesses and more! The people of The North Country deserve their health and safety! @ChrisSununu@AnnMcLaneKuster@nhpr#stopnortherntrash#nh#nhpolitics
