35-year-old Halima in Buzu IDP camp is an entrepreneur. She sells charcoal for 200 naira (55 cents) to fend for her family of 10. The family had fled Mafa in October 2018. The Muhammadu Indimi Foundation met women like Halima during a needs assessment in Maiduguri IDP camps.

During the needs assessment, the Foundation's survey found that there are about 10 - 19 orphans in most camps. The teenage females marry while the younger orphans like 11-year-old Aisha roam the streets begging. On a lucky day, she & 9 others collectively get 50 naira (14 cents).
