I think it’s noteworthy that the panel of Jesus between two thieves on the Holy Door is the one most people touch as they pass through.
Right at hand height & eye level, you are reminded of Jesus on the cross saying “Father, forgive them” and giving witness to mercy to two condemned men, one who converts and one who doesn’t.
Forgiveness captivates us. When we see it given, and when we receive it. It can convert even the most hardened sinner.
I am praying that Erika Kirk’s witness to it will be the lasting legacy in this moment. St. Dismas, pray for her and for us.
