What's your favorite time of day? Mine is dusk, especially when I'm walking through the park, watching an upside down city come to life in quiet reflection.
This is subjective but…
Name three PERFCT movies. No argument. No explanation. Just three flicks you think are perfect. I’ll start:
1) Jaws
2) The Godfather II
3) The Empire Strikes Back
(That was hard. I wanted to put three more. 😂)
@michaelshermer@SusskindLeo FYI: this isn’t Susskind himself; it’s “Inspired by concepts associated with Leonard Susskind, one of the pioneers of string theory …”
I think of this photo a lot. The owner, Rachel Posner, donated it to Yad Vashem, and on the back wrote in German: “Chanukah 5692 (1932). ‘Death to Judah,’ so the flag says. ‘Judah will live forever,’ so the light answers.” Some lights cannot be extinguished. Chag Sameach.
The macroeconomy is strong--high growth, low unemployment, falling inflation--the best of any advanced economy.
But there was a reluctance to present/understand how families were still not out of the deep inflation hole. And too much masked by cherrypicking/misleading stats.
Even in your darkest moments, it's possible to find a spark of joy. The key lies in discovering an activity or practice that resonates with you—something that can serve as your emotional anchor, keeping you safe and stable amidst life's turbulent waters. From the winter wonderland of the Yukon surrounding me, I'm sending joy, hope, and positivity. And happy Halloween, everyone!

Today we remember the 1200+ Israelis, Israeli Arabs and Bedouin, Thais and others slaughtered and mutilated by Hamas terrorists in their diabolical invasion of Israel a year ago and the hostages taken and those who have died since and the 100 who remain in Hamas tunnels. May their memories be a blessing.
May we recall their names forever and may the remaining hostages, including British hostage Emily Damari,28,whose mother spoke so touchingly yesterday at the rally in Hyde Park Remembering Oct7, be freed soon.
In the same breath and thought we recall and grieve for the many innocent Palestinian and now Lebanese civilians killed in the wars launched by Hamas on October 7 and Hezbollah on October 8 and the many Israeli, Palestinian and Lebanese civilians facing bombardment, suffering and fear.
Let today belong to the civilians killed in this war not to those horrors who delight in hatred and show no empathy and whose cruelties and prejudices should shame them but instead just poison us all; nor to the demonic terrorists whose slaughters, tortures and warmaking have done nothing for their own cause nor the safety of their own but placed them and many others in peril and sacrificed many...
May peace safety and comfort return. May an Israeli republic and a Palestinian republic one day live safely side by side.
Tonight Jewish people and decent people everywhere who keep these humane thoughts together in their hearts will remember those who were killed today. And after.
Like many I will be going to a synagogue tonight. I will be speaking about Jewish history and reading poems by Bialik, Amichai and others... Like many I have not stopped thinking and dreaming about this since October 7 and is unlikely we – I mean Jews but also Palestinians and indeed all humane people for there are thank God still many of those - will awaken from this nightmare for some time. If ever
@jessesingal The issue is whether you can trust that his claims are made in good faith, when he has such contemptuous attitudes towards Jews.
That’s a separate issue from whether he acknowledges that they’ve suffered, which is a pretty low bar.
@jessesingal Maybe you owe it to your fans to reevaluate the Hitler-splainer’s take on Israel, given that you’ve recommended him in the past? One possibility is the work of Benny Morris.

The day will come when we look at current toxic cancer chemotherapy the way we look at blood-letting from two centuries ago. Immunotherapy with few side effects will be ascendant. https://t.co/7GxUsrgEdI
“Our way is not soft grass, it's a mountain path with lots of rocks. But it goes upwards, forward, toward the sun.” Ruth Westheimer, survivor and savant. Passed away age 96. May her memory be a blessing.
