Hey! its Jack im a 15 year old boy working in coal mine since i was 5! I just discover this new thing, i will be telling you about my life and adventures! 🤙🤙
I heard that a new exhibition was inaugurated at the Crystal Palace, it was about dinosaurs many people dont find it interesting but i think its amazing to see how were animals million years ago!
Finally the famine in Ireland has ended, it has been a very bad situation of starvation and disease caused by a failure on a potato crop! 2 years ago i was sent to work on Ireland and conditions were horrible.
This one of the most common works that we usually do on the mine as children, we transport the material from inside the mine to the outside, in some places inside work has been forbidden for children luckily because it is very dangerous and can cause landslides of rocks
Since the Royal School of Mines was inaugurated in 1851 it has been my dream to go there, unfortunately i would never be able to go because im poor and i have no opportunities. There you can study earth sciences and engineering!
The palace is beautiful, isn’t it?
You know what is not?
The coal mine, it is awful!!
Some of you, adults, may have not even seen it yet and I am spending my whole childhood there!
I also discovered that on 1842 a new act was created, the Mines Act of 1842 it said that children under the age of 10 cant work on mines ( too bad i already started to work) and women were not allowed to work on mines or colleries.
I just returned home, on my way i found a man from USA! I asked him about how were things there and he gave me this, it is an Act passed by the United States, state of California in 1850, imposing a tax of $20/month on foreign miners due to a gold rush that happened in California
Today my boss gave me a free day to visit the "Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of all Nations" I was amazed about all the beauty and new devices that the people had created!
conditions in mines are too bad, there are a lot of landslides of rocks and a lot of people are injured because of that! When are going politicians worry about this?
As young and poor worker my opinions may not count but i would like to say my point of view about working nowadays. Since i was very little i try to help my family working and conditions at work are unimaginably bad, air is almost unbreathable, and higiene is unexistant +
so i would like to suggest a more sustainable way of working, maybe children could not work and enjoy their childhood, or conditions could be a bit better to work. Results would be better and people would be happier
@op_27_no_1 I may cannot afford education but i try to educate myself asking to other people about things that im interested in. And i have heard a lot about him
I agree with Lewis, he is one of the best writers i know, and also he knows how to appreciate the art that we are able to see there, not like other politicians that just goes there without minding all the art we can see!
This what i love about this exhibition, it looks very modern, all this art has a lot of value and being able to see it, is a big pleasure. As a curiosity this exhibition was inspired by the one in Paris when @victoriaqueen_0 's husband visited it.
@luddjones@Real_Bessemer i literally gain 4 coins at the end of the week i cant live with that so if i have to suffee a lor for just that would be great some help
