Since its release, I’ve been listening to and analyzing Tan Jianci’s third album, TANGENT — and it has exceeded all my expectations.
The more I listen to it, the better it gets. The songs are deeply engaging on their own, but what impresses me most is how naturally the album flows as a narrative. 辩友 /“Debate” had an immediate impact on me, while “Rise On” becomes even more meaningful when understood in relation to Tan Jianci’s own journey: falling, rebuilding, beginning again, and continuing forward.
TANGENT was created in the gaps of an extraordinarily busy schedule, yet nothing about it feels incidental. It is carefully conceived and structured around a challenging concept that works remarkably well as a complete work.
In only three days, the album reached #7 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart — an impressive reception that is still developing.
Today, fans on Weibo brought back this Huamei video produced a few years ago, with “Trouble in My DMs” as its soundtrack. Watching it now almost feels like discovering one of the many visual possibilities already contained within the song.
And perhaps that is what excites me most about TANGENT: it is such a multifaceted work that there are still so many paths to explore — musically, visually, and conceptually.
I hope this album travels far, and that Tan Jianci receives increasingly wider recognition for this essential dimension of his artistry: his music.

The level of patience Jungkook and Jimin have with each other is honestly out of this world 😭 Because let me tell you something as a person lol, if my partner kept asking me questions like that, I would have definitely rolled my eyes by now 😂

But Jungkook? He never seems bothered. If Jimin asks something, he’s ready to answer, no matter how many questions come after it. If Jimin needs something, he’s there. That kind of patience and attentiveness says a lot about the way they understand each other.

And honestly, that’s another reason I trust Jungkook. He has the kind of presence I would want in a partner—the kind of person who listens, responds, and makes you feel like your questions aren't a burden. 😭💜
