Today marks the 10th month of freedom for Flaco the Eurasian eagle-owl. He’s been full of surprises from the start. The first time I saw him on a building was weeks after his escape, when he flew to Central Park’s Naumburg Bandshell. Now he can’t get enough of buildings!

omg, just as I was leaving Central Park empty-handed, I noticed a large flock of Cedar Waxwings flying overhead. I retraced my steps and found them at one of their favorite crabapple trees! Did I mention I absolutely love Waxwings? 🥰🥰🥰 #waxwings, #CentralPark#birdcpp
And just like that, today is Flaco’s 10th month of freedom from his enclosure in Central Park Zoo. This image was taken in November at the Loch in Central Park surrounded with the most beautiful fall foliage. #birdcpp#Nature#Naturephotography#wildlife
Ten months ago #Flaco made his famous escape from the Central Park Zoo. For nine months, he lived in the park, eating rats and enthralling passersby. He is now on the move and has been sleeping in UWS courtyards. Here is the last time I saw him in his favorite oak tree. ❤️🦉❤️
Pair of massive bull elephants fighting at Kruger national park, South Africa.
It’s moments like these that remind you just how powerful elephants are.
Also, that poor tree got caught in the crossfire lol.

🚀🚀🚀I've long wanted to capture a bird when it's shaped like a missile and today I came pretty close with this Cedar Waxwing as it accelerated toward a Central Park crabapple tree! 🥰🥰🥰 #CentralPark#Waxwings#birdcpp
🎉🎉🎉An immense museum of Cedar Waxwings descended on a pair of Central Park's crabapple trees this morning. For most of my life I never knew these birds existed, much less ever saw one. Now, they're one of my absolute favorites! ❤️❤️❤️ #CentralPark#birdcpp
Joy in Central Park today as Flaco the Eurasian Eagle-Owl has returned to reclaim his favorite oak tree, standing his ground despite visits from a hawk and some crows. 🦉 ♥️ 🌳
