Had a Topmate call today.

I joined the call expecting to talk to a college student.

He joined, I asked about his batch...

"I'm in 10th."

😭

Then his father joined the call too.

And this kid started showing me the websites and apps he's already building.

I was genuinely surprised.

Then his father said something that stayed with me.

He doesn't want his son to spend the next few years blindly preparing for JEE, studying Physics, Chemistry and Maths just because that's the "normal" path.

He'd rather let him spend that time actually building, exploring and figuring out what he's good at.

We had a really good conversation about it.

And honestly, I don't know if there's one "right" path.

But seeing a 10th grader already building things, with a father who's willing to support that instead of forcing him into the usual race...

that was refreshing.

Made me think about how many kids are actually talented at something, but never get enough space to discover it.

You're arguing with a point I never made.

I never said "don't go to college."
I never said "JEE is useless."
I never said "every kid should drop the traditional path."
I shared one conversation I had with a father and his 10th-grade son, because I found their approach interesting.
I literally said in the post: "I don't know if there's one right path."

You can disagree with that family's decision. That's completely fine.

But turning a personal anecdote into "brainwashing kids for views" is something you've added yourself.

Different kids have different strengths. Some will thrive through JEE and college. Some may thrive by building things early. Neither of us gets to decide that every kid must follow the same path.
