@thehabitsofhero [Fuck that does smell good. Zelda leans into the comfort of the present moment.] I feel... different. When I consider a decision there are not so many <(voices (arguments) in my head)>
@thehabitsofhero [Leans in to close the distance, kissing your cheek] <{She means something closer and more personal (her power (her self confidence))}>
@thehabitsofhero [Accepts it with closed eyes, murmurs] You smell nice. [Opens them slowly to look up at you.] ....I think everything will be alright now. I am ready.
@thehabitsofhero [Slips inside to curl into her preferred heat source, your body, and rests her head on your shoulder. She's lost in thought but it isn't heavy, she seems content.]
@the_rotato [She does not forgive him, but she does give a sharp nod, and the queen of Hyrule takes a deep breath and walks out of the chamber, completing the final trial.]
@the_rotato [Zelda marches through the royal gardens, the letter clenched in the fist of one hand. Her face is red and furious, and she nearly trips over her long skirts but jerks them to keep them above her shoes.] FATHER? /Father!/ Where are you!?
@the_rotato [fists clench] How can you be sure I was wrong?? How could you not trust me- throw me away like my voice was worthless at the same time as you depended on me?? [She looks him dead in the eye] I will rely on my own wisdom now because it is all I have. There is no one else.
@the_rotato [but this time Zelda is not afraid of him] No. I will not accept the blame. It is true that I did not find some magical way to unlock a gift I did not understand. But you drove me to madness and panic with your cruelty and your refusal to see me for any part of who I really was.
@the_rotato It was you. [Zelda lifts her chin to look at him with hurt, burning eyes.] You were the reason my powers never worked, father. You were the reason I could never love myself. Because you never loved me.
@the_rotato [When Zelda returns to her father she's composed herself, holding the letter tight in her hand and determined not to let herself run away with wild emotion this time. It felt good, horribly good, to get her revenge. But this time maybe it's just an opportunity to speak her mind.]

[Zelda is standing in the garden, weaponless again and staring down at her hands. One clenches the letter she waved at her father, the other is suspiciously free of his blood. And she remembers now, the trial] ...fuck.
@the_rotato [With a shriek of fury, the world going red, Zelda snatches for that familiar sword hilt. It’s comfortable in her hand, hefty, and she gives in to the forbidden urge she’s carried for every formative moment of her life- she plunges the sword into her father.]
