@rabid_raviv A legitimately sickening amount of this discourse is just
Trans men: This behavior is hurting us
Non-trans-men: Okay well you basically asked for it :/
Ares: "ladies and gentlemen" is unnecessarily gendered, overly formal, lengthy and honestly i'm already falling asleep
Ares: "cowards", on the other hand, is inclusive, to the point, and dramatic
@hankgreen Turns out pounchguy is an asshole himself. The sentiment still stands for any trans person who came to this post. You are allowed to be loud abt how you experience transphobia. You are not making it up for attention/ "to be more oppressed"
All transphobia should be eradicated
@Pounchguy@hankgreen Pounchguy, I am so sorry for the amount of assholery on your reply. Some people really do not understand that women and girls is how transphobes talk about us (while somehow seeing that they call trans women men).
And people are largely ignorant on how trans men are treated
Idk people denying that trans men experience transphobia (or that ours is so significantly less that it might as well not count) always give off this vibe that they just see us as women. Yes, even "allies."
@Jax_Yacks@RobertDownerJR4@indiehopeful@Pounchguy Damn, i guess im doubly not a man now. Pleas e no one call me a short man or a white man or I guess even those plus the word woman bc i guess i just dont exist after that
@mbpppppp@hankgreen@Pounchguy Or perhaps thats because she doesn't call us trans men nor men at all. We are "confused little autistic girls" and her shit as well as other transphobes doesn't end there either
@hxllect@hankgreen@Pounchguy Id hardly say is "a more silent form" (nor is it the only way we receive transphobia) since its very loud and sensationalized in books and essays by major transphobes
@Jax_Yacks@hankgreen ^ and assuming all trans men's struggles begin and end with "infantilization" really disregards trans men who are marginalized as men in other ways as well (Black trans men, fat trans men, disabled trans men, etc)
Ngl, not just using lesbophobia to describe queerphobia irt anti-lesbian shit is a big red flag to me. Idk why some people can't be normal about lesbianism (yk the thing that has always been expansive and inclusive).
psst 👀
calling everyone:
june 5th is aromantic visibility day, our very first ever aromantic visibility day and it's so very close, can you all help us spread the word about aromantic visibility day? spread it to as many people you can before the date comes.
Celibate: a person who CHOOSES not to engage in sex
Vegan: a person who CHOOSES not to eat meat
Asexual: a person who isn't strongly or often attracted to other people
Someone who doesn't like meat might still like pizza, even if there's pepperoni on it.
Asexual =/= Celibate
If queer isn’t right for you, personally, that’s okay; no one else can choose for you the language you use for yourself. But if you’re not okay with anyone using it… I’d ask you to reconsider why, and ask yourself where you learned that. 🧵/
