Thirteen days since Thai troops arrested our soldiers. They denied to release our soldiers back and even said that they have the right to keep them because they're war hostage. It's not right, they used fake scenarios to abduct our soldiers and it show Thailand violated the ceasefire.

The Spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia would like to inform the general public and the international community that, according to received information at 10:49 a.m. on 3 August 2025, the Thai military, in cooperation with Thai authorities, has instructed its remaining civilians in the border area of Surin Province to evacuate by tonight.

The same sources also confirmed that the Thai military plans to launch attacks along the border starting from the Tamone Thom Temple, Ta Krabey Temple, Preah Vihear Temple, up to the Anseh area. These attacks are expected to commence soon, prior to the scheduled meeting of the Extraordinary Meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) on 7 August 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This planned offensive constitutes a violation of the territorial sovereignty of Cambodia before the GBC meeting, and it is a serious breach of the ceasefire agreement mutually agreed upon by both countries on 28 July 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, with Malaysia, the United States, and China as witnesses.

Cambodia appeals to the international community to help prevent this at all costs and urges the Thai side to immediately stop its planned aggression, if this information is true, and to respect the ceasefire agreement fully for the sake of peace and stability along the border areas of both countries and the entire region.

International community needs to know how cruel Thailand is. We are spreading the awareness of what THAILAND is doing right now.

Thai has now released 2 Cambodian soldiers, who were captured by Thai army. One of them is seriously injured and another is under mental problem. However, there are still some Cambodian soldiers that haven’t got released yet.
