Someone noticed something really beautiful about the descriptions of Rafayel's new myth outfits and packs: when arranged together, they form a poem sequence. 📝

将军策马春风面,意气无两正少年
王侯披甲穿营过,震破千军威名扬
独抵万军甲胄碎,心念百转四海晏
水尽山穷明辉铸,神魔一念天地陷
千淬万炼金门开,武神飞升天光曙
“The general rides beneath the spring breeze, a peerless young man in the full blaze of his spirit.
The lord dons his armor and passes through the camp, his might shaking thousands as his renowned name resounds.
Alone he stands against ten thousand, his armor shattered; through a hundred turns of thought, he seeks peace for all beneath heaven.
At the end of all roads, his radiance is forged; between god and demon lies a single thought, enough to plunge heaven and earth into ruin.
Tempered through a thousand trials and ten thousand refinements, the golden gate opens; the Martial God ascends as heavenly light breaks into dawn.”
What makes it especially beautiful in Chinese is its construction. Every line has seven characters, creating five balanced 7+7 couplets. Chinese poetry can compress enormous images into very little space, leaving connections for the reader to feel rather than explicitly spelling them out.
The language is full of classical-style paired images and contrasts: expressions such as 千淬万炼 don't literally mean a specific number of trials, but evoke being forged and refined countless times, like metal under repeated fire – echoing the tradition of Yu Qian's "千锤万凿出深山" and Liu Kun's "何意百炼刚."
Even the opening carries echoes of the classics: 春风面 recalls Du Fu's "画图省识春风面," while 策马 through spring wind evokes Meng Jiao's "春风得意马蹄疾" and Li Bai's "银鞍白马度春风" – all images of youthful glory and boundless spirit.
独抵万军甲胄碎,心念百转四海晏 – his armor is already shattered, he's standing alone against ten thousand, yet the hundred thoughts turning in his mind aren't about survival – they're about peace for all beneath heaven. His body is broken, but his heart still holds the world.
水尽山穷 reverses the familiar 山穷水尽, evoking reaching the absolute limit where every possible road has run out. This is a deliberate allusion to Lu You's famous line "山重水复疑无路,柳暗花明又一村" – where reaching a dead end turns out to be a false alarm, and a new village appears. But here, it's not a false alarm. He has truly reached the end. And yet it's precisely there that his radiance is forged – transforming "the road was there all along" into "I am the road."
His journey – the tribulations, the shattering, the choice between god and demon, and the final ascension – is compressed into these few lines. He was never merely mortal; he was always divine, yet chose to endure every wound as though he were. Infold really wrote a whole classical poem just to hype up War God Rafayel, and honestly? It worked. 🍁

so we were right. they do want a new male audience. the tiktok on the boat, that article revealing they're rebranding from the signature color purple to red and black. good luck with your non loyal, NON PROFITABLE, homophobic male fanbase bts
the cn names of qi yu’s myth cards might reflect one of the core ideas of the entire myth even more, as you know the language is more poetic and imaginative than english, so it’s really hard to convey it in translation but let’s try to dive deeper into it 🍁🍁🍁
玄面昭昭 - officially localized as Masked Radiance. the original carries the sense of something mysterious or concealed becoming bright, clear and manifest.
玄 xuan - mysterious, profound, hidden
面 mian - face, visage, aspect
昭昭 zhaozhao - bright, clear, evident, manifest
玄面无相 (xuanmian wuxiang) - officially Masked Dissolution. 无相 literally brings the idea of being without fixed form or appearance, something no longer possessing a visible manifestation.
玄 xuan - mysterious, profound, hidden
面 mian - face, visage, aspect
无 wu - without, lacking
相 xiang - form, appearance, outward manifestation
this is also their chronological order in the story, from manifest to formless.
when they find each other, what had remained unresolved for centuries finally becomes tangible. they fight side by side, form their bond and, for a time, are able to exist together. then they separate, and that visible form dissolves - qi yu disappears from her life, but the bond itself never ceases to exist.
at the same time, the myth as a whole follows an even larger movement - something scattered, concealed and unresolved passing through suffering, transformation and tribulation until it can eventually be gathered and made whole again.
what is scattered must be gathered. what remains unfinished must pass through its tribulation.
even the language surrounding the myth keeps returning to this idea - the boundary between god and demon rests on 一念, a single turn of the heart, while salvation is expressed through 渡, crossing or carrying another across.
their transformation is therefore never something either of them completes alone. they pass through manifestation and dissolution, separation and reunion, losing and finding one another - until what was once scattered and unresolved can finally be brought into the light.
there is also another layer to 无相 (wuxiang) through the idea of “神本无相” - the divine is not bound to a fixed form. form is merely a temporary manifestation, not the true nature.
through this lens, 玄面无相 deepens considerably. on the surface, it describes qi yu vanishing from her life - becoming formless in the story. on a deeper level, qi yu is divine by nature, and the divine was never bound to form to begin with. his disappearance is not annihilation, but a return to a state of being that transcends physical manifestation. he never truly left; he simply ceased to exist in a visible shape.
and on the deepest level, the bond itself requires no form to persist. 无相 does not mean absence - the bond has moved beyond the tangible into something unseen yet indestructible.
from 玄面昭昭 to 玄面无相, the movement is therefore not from existence to nothingness, but from the manifest to the concealed. form may dissolve, but nature does not.
so 玄面无相 is both a tragedy - he is gone - and a promise - he was never truly gone. the formlessness is not an ending, but perhaps the most honest expression of what he has always been
