🐨 As I’ve been going to Korea, Japan, the US & Mexico, I’ve already seen that in your eyes. Ah, we’re still connected. And of course, you can film on your phones. I film too. When I go to concerts, I film too. But still, at that concert, there are many moments when we look into each other’s eyes

The reason I like movie theaters is that when you go to a theater, you have to turn your phone off for two hours, right? That time when, for 2 hours, you let yourself be completely led by the director’s intention, that’s something we really don’t have anymore

Of course, coming & recording & filming is your entirely rightful privilege as people who came all the way there. But while you’re filming, during certain songs, there’s this energy in that moment that only the tens of thousands of people there, including the 7 of us, can feel. The moments when we look at one another, sing the same lyrics together, jump together & wave our hands together, I think those moments will only become more precious & more valuable as time goes on

I think that experience will become more of a luxury in the future, in many different senses

🐨: Because I'm not... you know, I've always been someone who isn't the best at dancing. So, because I really wanted to do well with the choreography for ‘2.0’, I would always arrive an hour before our dance lessons started to practice by myself first. And then after the lessons ended, I’d stay behind for another 30 minutes to practice more for ‘2.0’
🐨: Because whenever I watched Jungkook, Jimin, Hoseok, and Taehyung, I'd think, 'Ah, I really don't want to drag them down.' I wanted to execute the vibe coolly just like them, especially since I have years of experience under my belt too. So I always watched them, analyzed their movements, and analyzed the professional dancers.
🐨: Anyway, it's a song that holds a lot of memories. And so many people showed a lot of love for the music video, too. I think it was a really meaningful song that allowed us to step forward into something new while still keeping an essence that feels authentically like us. I'm also really grateful to Mikey, Charles, Jungkook, Hobi, and Taehyung for this song.

🐨 The lyrics about our pride in being Koreans, I could have written them in a more poetic and showy way. But I had to complement the phonetic style of the existing lines and this song is really just saying "We're aliens, so what?" And with our international ARMYs singing along, there can be an interesting transference, a reversal.
🐨 And so I think I had hopes that more people would know about these lyrics, whether as a meme or as mockery, since the lyrics speak out directly.

🐨: The song 'Body to Body' was originally supposed to be titled 'Body on Body.' If I remember correctly, it was a song with a very sexual nuance, like 'I need somebody on body.' You get the general vibe…bodies overlapping and all that. So it was a pretty sensual song.
🐨: Of course, it's not like we can't do sexual songs anymore; after all, we are in our 30s now. However, I just felt that putting out a highly sexual song right now without a clear reason wasn't the right direction for us.
🐨: So, I thought about 'Hand in Hand'—the theme song for the 1988 Seoul Olympics by Koreana…and shifted the concept to 'Body to Body,' playing on the idea of holding onto each other's bodies instead of just hands. I really wanted it to become an anthem.
🐨: There was a lot of debate in the documentary about whether or not we should include 'Arirang' (to sample the folk song). Since some of the context was edited out, it might look a bit sudden, but after listening to it for the third time, I finally understood the reasoning behind it.
🐨: We had been listening to the version without 'Arirang' for a long time, so when it was first added, it felt a bit unfamiliar. Some people might even look at it and think, 'Isn't this trying too hard to push forced Korean patriotism (Gukbong)?' To be fair, that's a perfectly valid perspective.
🐨: But ultimately, when you think about it in the context of live concerts, that part hits differently. Seeing so many international fans waiting for that exact moment and singing along to a traditional Korean folk song perfectly... that is not a scene you can just artificially manufacture or stage.
🐨: I actually really like the GIF of that moment. J-Hope is dancing and grooving excitedly right next to me, while I'm standing there looking deeply serious and thinking to myself, 'Oh man, this is huge. We might be in trouble.'
