This falls neatly into Pragmatics (linguistic context).
The time answer given is "conventional" & expected, not the literal, "Yes". Most assume the person is requesting the actual time.
You take it 1 step further: if you have to 👀 at your⌚️, you don't really know the time!

I question & highly doubt the existence of such valid reasons *for* ANY bots to possess ANY traits of the living beyond
functional use. This practical application should be the norm.
