@ryanflorence personally i would be interested in how remix 3 could be used in a micro-frontend architecture. shared ui components and functional libraries. previously have wrestled doing this with import maps or module federation with RR6/7
@BrooksLybrand@timquirino did a similar thing about a month ago. pointed the agent at the r3 repo, mine ryan/michaels twitter output and blogs for intentions and it produced a thing of beauty. was like going forwards and backwards in web dev principles at the same time. excited. this is going to be great.
@kentcdodds@thdxr lol.. that literally was the response from my 11 year old daughter 2 minutes ago when i gave it a go... "you know what rating i give your morning school prep routine out of 10 ..... 6-7" .... "dad that hasn't been cool since like october"
@ryanflorence@BrooksLybrand@KevinVanCott for nerdier context i mean apache struts up to 1.3.7 before it jumped the 2.0 shark lol. after some react/next years, remix 2 felt so natural, refreshing, finely tuned and understandable... remix 3 I know will be that and without the "elephant on the chest", choking decisions.
@ryanflorence@BrooksLybrand@KevinVanCott I definitely will, as it was pivotal. It came at a time when i didn’t feel comfortable and was disillusioned with the web dev world. Remix felt to me like it was the proper evolution from the apache struts/xhr world I was in before, rather than the direction react led us :)
@arpitdalal_dev@remix_run@BrooksLybrand I forget who the designer is of all these things.. so good. beautiful aesthetics and nuanced touch to everything coming out. If any spares please let me buy them, gutted I couldn’t make the trip 😭
@ryanflorence@mjackson So much great stuff in there yesterday, I am going to have to rewatch to dig into the deep dive the details. as a 25+ year web dev veteran I share your exact thoughts on the react drift. this is what we need. thank you!
@ryanflorence Yes.. those iterations are invaluable in my experience. I’ve been finding GPT-5 has been asking clarifying questions if I don’t prompt it vs the other models and they are generally very valid nuances.
@CommodoreBlog It would be great to see something actually substantial revived but they’ve got to get the basics going before I’m going to get too excited
@bkwebster@ryanflorence@Shreyassanthu77 thats what jumped out to me too.. I’d be totally okay with that being Remix 3’s default port number. Will make a change from seemingly every framework I use battling it out for 3000 :)
