@BBGreatMoments Baseball was different back then. Avg didn’t matter as much. Winning did. It wasn’t best player award. No one knew advanced stats. Look at 1940 MVP NL. McCormick wasn’t even close to Mize but reds won and cards didn’t. Williams was the better player. DiMaggio was more valuable.
