5億枚から5000万枚へ
Tsubaki.3のアニメ系画像向けの事前学習データは、公開データセットから集めた約5億組の画像・テキストペアから始まりました。
ただ、ウェブからそのまま集めたデータには、4つの問題があります。ノイズが多い、重複が多い、キャプションの品質や内容にばらつきがある、そして一部の頻出する概念に偏っている。
そこで、4つの工程でひとつずつ対処しました。
・品質フィルタリング
・重複除去
・キャプションの再生成
・概念バランスの調整
めざしたのは、ノイズが少なく、学習に適し、より幅広い概念をカバーできるデータです。

参照画像から生成：参照画像が渡すのは「ひとつの属性」

参照画像から生成では、参照画像がモデルに渡すのはひとつの属性だけです。
キャラクターの同一性、ポーズ、表情、ラフ、ページレイアウト、画風など。
モデルはその属性を軸に、まったく新しい1枚を組み立てます。
ルールは厳格です。参照が渡したものは保つ、それ以外は持ち込まない。
難しいのはこの「それ以外は持ち込まない」の部分。キャラクターの参照が、元の背景や光や構図まで一緒に連れてきてはいけないのです。

Local Editing: Change Only What You Ask

Local Editing follows one rule: change the part you name, and leave everything else untouched.
The tech report lists 13 example edits Tsubaki.3 handles:
・Color, expression, action, and size changes ・Adding, removing, or replacing objects
・Background replacement
・Adding, removing, or replacing text
・Composite edits and inpainting
"Change the background but keep the character exactly as is" works as a single-line instruction.

Reference Generation: One Reference, One Attribute
In Reference Generation, a reference image hands the model exactly one attribute.
That attribute can be character identity, pose, expression, a rough sketch, a page layout, or an art style.
The model then builds a brand-new image around it.
The rule is strict: keep what the reference supplies, and bring in nothing else.
That "nothing else" is the hard part. A character reference should not drag its original background, lighting, or composition along with it.
