I did a quick dry fit of the wing section. Also, after looking into it, I found that on the Ho 229, not only was the wing skin made of wood, but the ribs were wooden as well.

Considering that the Ho 229's skin was made of spruce wood, I chose a slightly darker wood texture, paired with some lighter-toned wood effects. I'll think about the weathering tomorrow.

I finally got the upper and lower fuselage sections joined together. I’m aiming to build the Ho 229 as an unfinished aircraft, so I drilled two holes in the instrument panel and added a large number of cables to emphasize the unfinished look.
