This is devastating. @mbrrace reports that 3x more women died by suicide than during the 2017-2019 period.
The true impact of Covid, lockdown, poverty, financial crisis disproportionately on women with trauma histories
Significant inequalities remain. #mbrrace infographic summary emphasises the missing voices of the women who have died, many of whom had multiple adversity and multi-morbidity.
229 women died during or up to 6 weeks after the end of pregnancy in 2018-20 in the UK from causes related to or exacerbated by pregnancy among 2,101,829 women giving birth, a maternal mortality rate of 10.9 per 100,000. #mbrrace https://t.co/iezQJVdjBN
Nurses have voted to go on strike for the first time in their history, demanding better pay and a fair deal.
I clapped for them during the pandemic and I support them now.
Solidarity to the nurses! 💙
Remember this when you vote in the next General Election.
On the day rocketing energy prices frighten millions of people as to how they will survive this winter, the response from the Conservative Govt is silence. No Minister on the mornings media.
And vote them out.
The decision to overturn abortion ruling #RoeVsWade is an unconscionable attack on the health and rights of women and girls in the United States. We are shocked that the future of so many people has been dictated by politics rather than evidence-based opinion. (1/2)
I had to stand outside a hospital in the rain for hours not knowing what was going on as my partner miscarried. I wasn’t allowed in to hold her hand and be there for her and there was nowhere open for me to go and wait. The same day there was a party in Number 10. #NotMovingOn
A little tip to those carrying out the EPDS - Ask the parent the questions. Don't ask them to fill it out.
My HV did this with baby no.2 & it is *much* harder to lie verbally about how you are feeling.
If in doubt about the answers. Ask again.
Please.

Absolutely nobody I knew in the NHS had routine gatherings or drinks after work during covid restrictions. We left exhausted, stripped, showered, terrified we might pass something on, ate, stayed in and slept. Day off meant a solo walk in the park. Rinse & repeat
@BBCPolitics We weren’t allowed in the staff rooms!! Our chairs were removed or taped off. Computers too close to each other were unplugged. We weren’t even allowed ‘communal food’ to share. We followed the rules. Unlike you useless band of criminals.
Boris Johnson must resign. He broke the law and repeatedly lied to parliament about it. The basic values of integrity and decency - essential to the proper working of any parliamentary democracy - demand that he go.
And he should take his out of touch chancellor with him.
