The N C govt has failed to deliver on its promises. Now, instead of addressing public concerns, it has started playing the Pakistan card. The people of Kashmir are not fools! Enough of this double-faced politics—one statement in Delhi and another in Kashmir.

7 days for Kashmir, 40+ for Jammu in #JKSSB Jr Assistant 2025 Typing Test? This isn’t a delay—it’s direct targeted sabotage on our merit! A horrific healthcare collapse in #Gurez has claimed the lives of a mother and her newborn baby, yet the administration remains in a deep, shameless slumber. Sub District Hospital Gurez has NO active Operation Theatre NO Gynecologist and NO basic life-saving facilities. Critical female patients are forced to endure a hazardous, life-threatening journey to Bandipora just for basic surgeries.
Amidst this devastating crisis, local MLA @NazirGurezi is busy staging fake inaugurations and selling hollow promises for media photo-ops. The people of Gurez are completely done with the toxic cosmetic governance of @JKNC_ led by @OmarAbdullah is silent, indifferent administration.

“THE CULT OF SELF”
I watched CM sahib talking to the media after meeting LG sahib. What a contemptuous and disdainful way of asking his party MLAs to not pester him for a ministerial berth.
I honestly can’t believe that these MLAs are comfortable with such belittling and humiliating remarks. If you are unable to accommodate them in the cabinet, you can spare them from public humiliation.
Anyway these are the internal party matters and I should not have commented. But there is always a spillover. You may direct the derision at your own members but it invariably belittles the political class.
I wonder how these elected members face their electors when they know they are treated like unworthy and incapable school boys.
Tasha Eurich in her book writes about the “The Power of Self-Awareness in a Self-Deluded World”. Somebody desperately needs to read it. Somebody is certainly self-deluded.
“The least competent people are usually the most confident in their abilities”, She writes.
And to the Honourable elected MLAs who act like bonded labour and who it seems are immune to humiliation. Spare the political class from this belittlement. We deserve better.
I remember the roll out ICPS in J&K, in 2016-2017, a first-of-its-kind child-friendly regime for children needing care, children in conflict with law and much more.
In the context of J&K we had a high incidence of minors being arrested by police. And ironically J & K was the only state at that time where there was no institutional mechanism to protect our children.
ICPS mandated that minors in conflict with law and on the verge of arrest, be produced before the JJB ( Juvenile Justice Board) and CWC ( Child Welfare Committee) and that a child-friendly regime take custody of the child.
This was a milestone in juvenile justice. There still was a lot of space for improvement. But basic institutional network was rolled out.
Thereafter came the Central Rule and they were obsessed with introducing outsourcing into ICPS. It is unimaginable for an outsourced employee to stand up to a police officer of a senior rank and fight for a minor. Then came the popular government in 2024. And believe it or not, they became more ardent advocates of outsourcing.
JJB and CWC are the first ports of call for children in distress or juveniles in conflict with law. These committee have been allowed to lapse. And as I write this post, a child has no institutional back up, if he or she is in distress.
Order No. MDICPS/65/2025-03 (13.10.2026) now shows how it has been allowed to lapse.
From 14.10.2026, there is no CWC or JJB. And so the children of on conflict with law cannot be produced before a CWC OR JJB.
The six-month extension under Rules 5 and 15 was allowed only "during which fresh appointments must be made." No appointments were made.
The order itself admits new CWCs/JJBs "are yet to be constituted."
The discretion is exhausted.
The default is totally by the government. No space for scapegoating.
The order contradicts itself: children's matters will be "attended to," yet no CWC or JJB exists. Who will attend to then children.
Protection Officers and DCPOs cannot pass orders on care, bail or inquiry.
What happens to a child needing urgent relief? The order is silent.
And where is the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, the monitor of this Act?
Advertised over a year ago, still dysfunctional.
The watchdog that should catch this lapse is missing.
Same Government, two defaults. Children's records now move to the executive without safeguards.
All the fault is of the elected government. Now please don’t come back to say that TOBR is not there. Or that we have sent the file to Centre. They have no role.
It is our children and the elected government is failing them
Shameless credit-grabbing.
MBBS & BDS interns had to hit the streets demanding a stipend hike before the government acted.
Now @JKNC_ sells it as visionary leadership.
The credit belongs to the doctors’ struggle, not the government’s PR machinery. @CM_JnK
Strongly condemn the disturbing incident involving a Delhi–Srinagar passenger bus in Haryana. Targeting a vehicle carrying ordinary citizens and causing injuries to an elderly passenger is an act that must not go unchallenged.
This is an incident of hate. A lunatic, drunk on hatred for Kashmiris indulged in act of violence against ordinary civilians.
I hope against hope that this incident is taken seriously and the attackers get the punishment that they deserve.
Visited Nisar Shah Sahib of Nowhatta to offer condolences on his uncle’s demise. The former Naib Muazzin of Jamia Masjid was reportedly suspended and expelled after inviting me, a mainstream political leader, to his home.
The Mirwaiz has moved beyond the Hurriyat label, engaged with mainstream institutions and enjoys Z+ security under the BJP-led government. Yet, Nisar Shah Sahib reportedly faces consequences for extending the same mainstream hospitality.
For the Mirwaiz, political U-turns. For Nisar Shah Sahib, alleged punishment. One rule for the powerful, another for the ordinary!
The Mirwaiz must answer these questions and apologise if Nisar Shah Sahib was unfairly treated.
You cannot claim political freedom for yourself while denying others the freedom to open their doors. A religious pulpit is not a licence for double standards .
“Hospitality isn’t a crime. Stop hiding double standards behind religious authority!”
Friday sermons (Khutbas) are a matter of religious guidance & should remain the domain of Imams & religious scholars.
The Waqf Board should not dictate what should or should not be said from the pulpit.
Pre-vetting & deciding Friday sermons through a J&K Waqf Board committee is direct interference in religious freedom and pulpit autonomy.
The pulpit belongs to faith, not government micromanagement. Hands off our mosques.
Kashmir MLAs are humiliated, their constituency funds diverted. We stay silent for statehood's sake but this money belongs to the people, not a political party.
If they think they'll walk over us, the Question Doesn't Arise.
Sajad Lone's fiery address shakes J&K Assembly
PRESS RELEASE
*‘Statehood Is Not Charity’: Sajad Lone Defends J&K Resolution, Invokes 1947 Commitments*
_Says BJP Has No Argument, They Just Arrived Day Before Yesterday; Statehood Was Taken Away Out of Stubbornness_
*Srinagar, September 25:* J&K Peoples Conference president and Handwara MLA Sajad Lone on Friday hit back at the BJP’s objections to the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly’s resolution on statehood, arguing that the political and constitutional relationship between J&K and India cannot be divorced from the commitments and assurances surrounding the events of 1947.
Lone said the BJP was “making noise” because it had no substantive argument against the resolution, insisting that Jammu and Kashmir’s accession to India must be understood in the context of the promises and constitutional arrangements that accompanied it.
“Jammu and Kashmir is a part of India because of the events of 1947. Promises were made to us in 1947. Because of that, we are here,” Lone said, arguing that restoration of statehood was not a matter of governmental charity.
He described the withdrawal of statehood as a “very bad act”, alleging that it was driven by “stubbornness” and “hatred”. He further argued that the constitutional relationship that evolved after accession, including the autonomy arrangements that existed before and after the 1953 watershed and the subsequent constitutional framework, could not simply be erased from the historical record.
Referring to the broader question of autonomy, Lone said issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir’s special constitutional position, including the commitments associated with accession and subsequent arrangements, formed part of the political understanding under which the State’s relationship with India developed.
“What does the BJP know? They just arrived the day before yesterday. You should talk about ’47,” Lone said, arguing that the question of how Jammu and Kashmir became part of India could not be separated from the historical commitments made at the time.
On the possibility of pursuing a judicial route for restoration of statehood, after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah indicated that legal options could be explored, Lone said the immediate priority was to secure passage of the Assembly resolution.
“We will look at the legal route later; first, let’s focus on passing the resolution here,” he said.
@JKPCOfficial
When Sajad Lone sb demanded that statehood be brought before the Assembly, the demand was blocked.
When he questioned why NC was hiding a statehood resolution inside a Cabinet decision instead of bringing it before the elected House, the question was ignored.
Today, the very same Assembly is being asked to pass a statehood resolution by Omar Abdullah.
So the political question is unavoidable:
Was @sajadlone sb wrong then—or is the NC simply right now because the demand is coming from them?
The issue of statehood does not change with the name of the person raising it.
If the principle was valid today, it deserved respect when Sajad Lone sb raised it yesterday.
In response to my question in the assembly pertaining to recruitment, the data brings out some ugly truths about the false promises made by the NC government in their election manifesto. The NC manifesto is a litany of lies.
1) In their election manifesto, NC promised to create 100000 new jobs. Till date they have created 899 jobs. It means that at current rate it will take them 222.46 years to create 100000 jobs. What a joke. The bigger joke is on those people who bought this lie.
2) In their election manifesto, NC also promised to fill all vacancies in government departments within 180 days. Today, it was revealed that only 7,580 vacancies have been filled in the past two years. As on date, 40672 posts remain vacant. Data shows that 24427 non‑gazetted posts, 3318 gazetted posts, and 12927 multi‑tasking staff positions are still unfilled At this pace, it will take more than a decade to fill up these 40672 posts.
3) NC also had promised to waive off application fees for government jobs. In response to a question submitted by me a year back, it turned out the same government had collected crores in application fees.
JKPC President @sajadlone , along with State Secretary Org @imrankehwah held an engaging and meaningful interaction with the youth of Srinagar.
The conversation reflected a growing desire for change, credible leadership and a politics rooted in hope and accountability.
The message from Srinagar’s youth is clear: they believe in change, they believe in a better future, and they believe in the People’s Conference.
Spokesperson @Muneeb_Quraishi , VP Srinagar Mir Fanoon and district srinagar team were also also present in the meeting
It was such a good feeling to roll out the seven bed Dialysis centre at GMC Handwara.
MLA Handwara CDF grant of 32 Lakhs and a generous grant of 43 lakhs under SSY by the then DC Kupwara @SudanAyushi ensured that this seven bed modern dialysis unit is finally operational at GMC Handwara.
The SSY grant was used to get RO and the civil part of the project. The CDF was used to get the machinery component of the project.
Hope it serves the people.
What is urgently needed is Dialysis Technicians. The posts though requested officially are yet to be created.
By calling for restoration of statehood is @OmarAbdullah claiming to embrace the reorganization Act of 2019 or is he demanding the pre Aug 5 2019 position.
August 5, 2019 was a brutal coup against the people of J & K. It will be held up with contempt and disdain by the people of J & K, for all times to come.
The day of disempowerment of the people of J & K. When everything was taken away. Article 370, Article 35 A. And to add salt to the wounds, J & K was relegated to a UT.
I hope a day will come when people of India will understand that these were promises made to the people of J & K on the eve of accession. And gradually all the promises were reversed. And whatever little was left for the people of J & K to cling on to, was brutally taken away on August 5, 2019.
Hope for the day when the people of J & K will be empowered again as matter of right and not as a matter of charity.
