इन्हें असली दिक्कत पश्चिम बंगाल में भाजपा की जीत से है। जयति घोष ने साढ़े 3 दशक में JNU में कैसे छात्रों को तैयार किया होगा और उनके मन में देश के प्रति कितना ज़हर भरा होगा, ये सोचने लायक है।

I actually predicted this 12 years ago. Hindus in Bengal are genuinely the most secular on the Gandhi-Nehruvian sense. Despite suffering a genocide in the hands of the Islamists, they were willing to get along with Muslims.

But Muslims have this very bad iinstinct of looking the gift horse in the mouth. By the sheer strength of persistently bad and bigoted behavior, they woke up the latent hindutva amongst Bengali Hindus.

Imagine ruling parties allowing a drastic demographic change by allowing people from the very country where the Bengali Hindu genocide happened?

Imagine the ruling party using Muslim henchmen to r@pe and k!ll hindu activists?

Imagine a mob of tens of thousands rampaging thru the streets of Kolkata protesting against the death sentence to the 1971 genociders?

Imagine a leading muslim minister saying those born Hindus are unfortunate and that it's Muslims job to redeem them?

It's a long list.

My prediction - that Bengali Hindus will finally have had enough and shift to Hindutva, the Muslims and Hindu liberals will squarely blame hindus for this turn of events. Not the slightest bit of introspection.

सोचिए, भारत ने जब 'ऑपरेशन सिंदूर' चलाया और युद्धविराम का ऐलान किया तो कई लोगों की भौंहें तन गई थीं। असल में समय-समय पर इलाज ही उचित विकल्प है, देश को अंतहीन युद्ध में झोंकने की बजाए।

एक अध्ययन में सामने आया है कि 2022 में शुरू हुए रूस-यूक्रेन युद्ध ने 20 लाख को मौत की निंदा सुला दिया है। रूस ने 14 लाख और यूक्रेन ने 6 लाख सैनिक खोए हैं।

रूस के कई छोटे तथा दूरदराज गाँवों में पुरुष जनसंख्या के समाप्त होने की ख़बरें आ रही है। एक तरह से रूस ने इस युद्ध में अपनी 1% जनसंख्या खो दी है। ये बड़ा आँकड़ा है। शक्तिशाली होने के बावजूद रूस को यूक्रेन के ख़िलाफ़ इतना संघर्ष करना पड़ रहा है। पूरा पश्चिमी जगत यूक्रेन के साथ है।

यूक्रेन के एक सैनिक के बदले रूस के तीन मारे जा रहे हैं। और इस साल तो यूक्रेन ने अपनी ड्रोन तकनीक को विकसित कर ऐसे-ऐसे हमले बोले हैं कि एक यूक्रेनी सैनिक के मुक़ाबले आठ रूसी सैनिक मारे जा रहे हैं। ये ताज़ा आँकड़े हैं, जो व्लादिमीर पुतिन के लिए चिंता का सबब बन गए हैं।

धीमे-धीमे ये इतिहास की सबसे रक्तरंजित लड़ाइयों में से एक बन गया है। रूसी सैनिकों की रणनीति व प्रशिक्षण में खामी नज़र आ रही है। वहाँ की रक्षा व्यवस्था में चरम भ्रष्टाचार की ख़बरें तो कब से तैर रही हैं। अच्छा हुआ कि भारत अब घर में घुसकर मारता है, लेकिन ऐसे युद्धों में नहीं फँसता जहाँ एक तरफ़ दुनिया उसका बहिष्कार करे और दूसरी तरफ़ आंतरिक अर्थव्यवस्था को चोट पहुँचे। रूस ऊर्जा निर्यात के मामले में अमेरिका के बाद शीर्ष पर है, हम तो भला आयात पर ही निर्भर हैं।

भारत अब स्मार्ट खेलता है, रूस को देखकर इसका एहसास हो जाना चाहिए।

VIDEO | A remarkable piece of heritage has been restored in Karnataka's Belagavi district. A 300-year-old stepwell, which had been buried under garbage and debris, has been brought back to life.

The 80-feet-deep stepwell, believed to have been built during the Adil Shahi dynasty between the 15th and 17th century, has now been fully restored by the Belagavi-based Pyaas Foundation with the support of NSS volunteers and local residents. It reveals 53 stone steps, and a unique layout that looks like a Shiva Lingam when viewed from above.
