From @StrathmoreLaw to @Harvard_Law, through Cambridge and New York, and now back to where it all began!

Nearly a decade after first walking into the Sir Thomas More Building as a law student, @Mnyagadominic has returned to Strathmore Law School, following his appointment to the adjunct faculty to teach #ConstitutionalLaw.

Along the way, he practised law in Kenya and subsequently worked with a New York-based law firm. Dominic read for his Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Harvard Law School, where he also worked as a legal researcher at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society (@BKCHarvard) on questions at the intersection of law, artificial intelligence and institutional design.

Today, he is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and Lead Counsel at Nyaga Dominic & Co. Advocates, advising businesses, investors and institutions on commercial, constitutional, regulatory and cross-border matters. He also writes for Business Daily Africa on law, markets, technology, infrastructure and institutions.

For Dominic, the return brings him back to lecture theatres where he still remembers exactly where he sat as a law student. Now he stands at the front, leading another generation through questions of constitutional history, law and exercise of delegated power.

A mountaineer who has climbed both Mount Kenya and Mount Kilimanjaro, Dominic sees something of the mountains in the journey itself: what matters is not simply how high one climbs, but what one builds, whom one serves and what one leaves behind.

A Dean’s List student for four consecutive years, Alex Kiwara Irungu represented #StrathmoreLawSchool at the prestigious John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition, where his performance earned him the Best Orator Award and a Master’s scholarship.

The moot also cemented his interest in international trade law and shaped the direction he hopes to take after law school.

His journey also saw him rise through the ranks of the @StrathLawReview , from Associate Editor to Senior Editor and eventually Editor-in-Chief, where he led a team of 25 editors and oversaw Volume XI.

Now a Graduate Assistant at @StrathmoreLaw, Alex awaits graduation as someone who chose law not simply as a career, but as a way to contribute to society.

Looking ahead, he hopes to strengthen institutions, improve access to justice and contribute to legal and policy reforms that support sustainable economic growth.
