خلال الحوار التفاعلي بشأن جنوب السودان خلال الدورة 62 لمجلس حقوق الانسان، أعربت ماعت عن قلقها إزاء استمرار الانتهاكات ضد المدنيين وعرقلة وصول المساعدات الإنسانية إلى المناطق المتضررة من النزاع.

ودعت إلى استمرار الدعم التقني الذي تقدمه مفوضية الأمم المتحدة السامية لحقوق الإنسان، على أن تعمل الحكومة على ضمان وصول المساعدات الإنسانية دون عوائق، ومحاسبة المسؤولين عن الانتهاكات.

During the interactive dialogue on South Sudan at the 62nd session of the Human Rights Council, Maat expressed its concern about the ongoing violations against civilians and the obstruction of humanitarian access to conflict-affected areas.

Maat called for continued technical support from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, urging the government to ensure unimpeded humanitarian access and to hold those responsible for violations accountable.

During a panel discussion on technical cooperation and capacity building, held at the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Maat for Peace emphasized that strengthening the right to health requires international cooperation based on sustainable financing and technology transfer, while respecting national priorities and state sovereignty.

Maat also called for support for cooperation models that promote equitable access to healthcare and achieve sustainable health development.

Maat for Peace made an oral statement during the interactive dialogue on the High Commissioner’s report on the impact of anti-personnel mines on the enjoyment of human rights, in which it pointed to the challenges facing mine clearance efforts in Yemen, noting the continued civilian casualties and the use of mines by parties to the conflict, and called for urging the United States of America to ratify the Ottawa Convention.

From the UN headquarters in Geneva, Maat warns of the prolongation of the war in Yemen due to foreign interventions.

Maat for Peace, Development, and Human Rights organized a side event on the sidelines of the 61st session of the Human Rights Council at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva to discuss the deteriorating human rights situation in Yemen.

The event highlighted the grave violations against civilians, including arbitrary arrests, enforced disappearances, and torture, as well as the decline in public freedoms, all in the absence of accountability.

It was also emphasized that foreign interventions in southern Yemen and the influx of weapons are directly contributing to the prolongation of the war.

The event concluded by stressing the necessity of ending the fighting, halting support for armed groups operating outside the framework of the state, launching independent investigations into violations, and holding those responsible accountable, thus paving the way for a just and comprehensive peace.

سلطت ماعت الضوء على تدهور أوضاع حقوق الإنسان في إثيوبيا، خلال مشاركتها في المناقشة العامة تحت البند 3 في مجلس حقوق الإنسان.

وأشارت إلى تداعيات تجدد الاشتباكات في إقليمي تيغراي وأمهرة وما خلفته من ضحايا في صفوف المدنيين.

كما حذّرت من القيود المفروضة على عمل المنظمات غير الحكومية، ودعت المجتمع الدولي إلى الضغط لوقف العنف وإعادة إنشاء آلية تحقيق مستقلة لضمان المساءلة والعدالة.

During it’s participation in the general debate under Item 3 at the Human Rights Council, Maat highlighted the deteriorating human rights situation in Ethiopia.

Maat pointed to the repercussions of renewed clashes in the Tigray and Amhara regions and the resulting civilian casualties.

It also warned against restrictions on the work of non-governmental organizations and called on the international community to exert pressure to stop the violence and re-establish an independent investigative mechanism to ensure accountability and justice.

حيث سلطت الضوء على مخاطر انتشار الأسلحة واستغلال الأطفال في النزاعات المسلحة في السودان واليمن والكونغو الديمقراطية، كما حذّرت من تداعيات فرار الأطفال من مخيم الهول في شمال شرق سوريا واحتمالات إعادة تجنيدهم من قبل تنظيم داعش. ودعت إلى تبني إجراءات تضمن إعادة دمج الأطفال في مجتمعاتهم.

Maat for Peace delivered an oral statement during the interactive dialogue with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Maat highlighted the dangers of the proliferation of weapons and the exploitation of children in armed conflicts in Sudan, Yemen, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

It also warned of the repercussions of children fleeing Al-Hol camp in northeastern Syria and the possibility of their re-recruitment by ISIS, and called for the adoption of measures to ensure the reintegration of children into their communities.

Maat participated with an oral statement during the presentation of the report of the Independent Expert on Somalia at the UN Human Rights Council, expressing concerns over terrorist attacks launched by Al-Shabaab, with support from Ethiopia, and rejecting the separatist calls led by Puntland. Maat recommended providing support and technical assistance to complete the final steps toward holding elections in Somalia.

في إطار اهتمامها بمكافحة العنف الإلكتروني ضد المرأة شاركت مؤسسة ماعت في ورشة العمل الإقليمية التي ينظمها مركز جنيف لحوكمة قطاع الأمن (ديكاف) في الفترة من 14 إلى 16 أكتوبر 2025 تحت عنوان " تعزيز الحوار والتعاون بشأن العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي الميسر بالتكنولوجيا في شمال أفريقيا"، وخلال مشاركتها طلبت ماعت بضرورة إطلاق حملات توعية مكثفة ومُستدامة، تستهد�� النساء والفتيات لرفع مستوى معرفتهن بكيفية حماية خصوصيتهن على الإنترنت، واستخدام أدوات الأمان الرقمي، والتعريف بالقوانين وآليات الإبلاغ الفعالة عن الانتهاكات، مع تنفيذ برامج وحملات إعلامية ومجتمعية تهدف إلى تغيير الثقافة المجتمعية السائدة التي تلوم الضحايا وتتسامح مع المعتدين، والتركيز على تحميل الجناة المسؤولية الكاملة عن أفعالهم، والعمل على المستوى الإقليمي والدولي للضغط على شركات ومنصات التواصل الاجتماعي لتبني خطوات أكثر فعالية لحذف للمحتوى المسيء، وتشجيع النساء على كسر حاجز الصمت والإبلاغ عن الجرائم، مع ضمان سريّة وسلامة هويتهن.

From Geneva... Maat Discusses the Status of Cyber Violence Against Women in Egypt and North Africa, Demanding a Comprehensive Cultural Change to Combat Victim Blaming and Lack of Digital Awareness.

As part of its commitment to combat cyber violence against women, Maat participated in a regional workshop organized by the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF) from October 14 to 16, 2025, titled "Enhancing Dialogue and Cooperation on Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence in North Africa."

During its participation, Maat called for the necessity of launching intensive and sustainable awareness campaigns targeting women and girls to raise their understanding of how to protect their privacy online, use digital safety tools, and familiarize themselves with effective reporting laws and mechanisms for violations.

It also emphasized the implementation of media and community campaigns aimed at changing the prevailing societal culture that blames victims and tolerates offenders, focusing on holding perpetrators fully accountable for their actions, and working at regional and international levels to pressure companies and social media platforms to adopt more effective measures to remove harmful content, while encouraging women to break the silence and report crimes, ensuring the confidentiality and safety of their identities.

اختتم فريق مؤسسة ماعت للسلام والتنمية وحقوق الإنسان مشاركته في التدريب الدولي الذي أقيم في مدينة بوشتيني، رومانيا، ضمن المرحلة الثانية من مشروع FemRise الممول من الاتحاد الأوروبي، وبالشراكة مع خمس منظمات دولية من البرتغال ورومانيا وتونس ولبنان والأردن.

على مدار أيام التدريب، ساهم فريق ماعت في نقل الخبرات من السياق العربي، وتبادل الرؤى مع المشاركين حول التحديات الثقافية التي تواجه قضايا المرأة في المنطقة، تم رفع القدرات على أدوات "مسرح الجريدة"، كأداة تفاعلية لنقد السرديات المجتمعية السائدة وإعادة تشكيلها بشكل يعزز المساواة والعدالة الجندرية.

Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights' team concluded its participation in the international training in Bușteni, Romania, within the second phase of the “FemRise project” funded by the European Union, and in partnership with five international organizations from Portugal, Romania, Tunisia, Lebanon and Jordan.

Over the course of the training days, Maat team contributed to transferring experiences from the Arab context, and exchanging visions with the participants about the cultural challenges facing women’s issues in the region.

The team also received practical training on “newspaper theater” tools, as an interactive tool to criticize prevailing societal narratives and reshape them in a way that enhances equality.
