Going to be following the Domestic Abuse Bill as it (finally!) returns to the @UKHouseofLords for its second reading today. Hoping for a Bill that meets the needs of ALL survivors and supporting @centreWJ call for the recognition of non-fatal strangulation as a criminal offence.
For the 20,000 victims of non-fatal strangulation and suffocation, I urge Parliamentarians to take action now and amend the Domestic Abuse Bill. This needs to be a stand-alone offence. If this opportunity is missed women will die.
#NonFatalStrangulation
Sending love to everyone at Christmas - especially survivors and frontline #domesticabuse workers who have done so much to support people this year #youarenotalone#reachin - and to anyone who isn’t where they want to be on this day
