the case of tim kalyegira shows you how the courts are bein' openly used as conduits of injustice and oppression
the establishment is arraignin' tim at kiira court on charges of computer misuse, likely misuse of social media
that particular provision was struck down along with the entire computer misuse (amendment) act, 2022, which was declared null and void
but for some reason, a magistrate will entertain those rubbish charges and possibly send good ol' tim to luzira
Balanced reporting is at the heart of credible journalism.
Journalists should seek all sides of a story, including engaging security agencies during crime scenes or public unrest.
Respecting safety guidance helps protect journalists while ensuring accurate, fair, and responsible reporting.

Dear @DailyMonitor, @ntvuganda,
It is undeniable that you have been excellent in the execution of your promise to country. Indeed, while illegal closure is painful, it is a shining badge of honor – a testament of stellar performance. You are the press that Thomas Jefferson spoke about.
You'll surely return bigger and bolder.
I don’t know what is more concerning. That the regulator tweeted about a shutdown not sanctioned by them? That the tweet came at 5:00 PM over an incident that happened at 1:00 AM? That the Military Chief declared only he could sanction reopening the media houses? That a public order to arrest media lead @SueNsibirwa came via X? That the CDF actually believes the press should be 'guided by cadres of the revolution,' or that the Head of State (the last known one, at least) allows all this to happen in silence?
How will this be recorded in the history our children’s children read? 🤔 or maybe the ‘writers of history’ will pretend none of it happened!

In a few hours, we discussing issues "Balance" don't be left out.
What is the biggest challenge journalists face when reporting on security issues in Uganda?
https://t.co/bLvFRYYCph
for years, the UG political elite – on either side of isle – has enjoyed the pretension of democracy. That we were working towards one: elections, judiciary exists, "free press", a constitution only amended thru parliament.
Then came Muhoozi Kainerugaba – as new sheriff!
The mask is off. It is a military state; it is a military state.
Unbeknownst to the man, however, he is catalyzing the right responses. Thank you, @ug_lawsociety
Lets go.
