If you’ve got expertise to lend — or a few quid to spare — now’s the moment. The County Council’s blown millions of your money trying to bulldoze a 100-year-old orchard and steamroller anyone who dares defend nature. We’ve got till 16 August to get our case in. Help, in any form, very gratefully received 🌳🚌❌ #SaveCotonOrchard

A single 400-year-old ancient oak produces 234,000 litres of oxygen a year while soaking up carbon dioxide, and can support more than 2,000 species of bird, insect, fungus, and lichen. Nature is amazing - we need more of it, not less. Please RT if you agree 🌳

Energy firms CANNOT bill you for energy used over 12mths ago. Yet many do. My evidence to Commons Energy Committee on this including how the rules should be changed.

A magnificent scene of a passing horse herd in the mountains of France. This is a transhumance of horses on the Couserans mountains: it happens every year in spring and back in autumn

We are told that, despite a TEMPO score of 15—merits TPO—@SouthCambs has decided not to progress application to protect Coton Orchard’s ancient Bramleys, skipping both debate and a councillor vote. FOI confirmation is pending, but if true the decision beggars belief.
Worse still, officers reportedly claim bulldozing the orchard for a busway will increase “public amenity value” because the trees (once destroyed) will somehow be “more visible.” Absurd. If this madness doesn’t speak for itself, perhaps we should 🌳🚌❌✊🏻🤨 #SaveCotonOrchard https://t.co/vcj56mEKxk

This shows what could be done in so many more cities and towns to boost biodiversity and help pollinating insects. RT if you’d like to see more healthy green spaces like this beautiful wildflower meadow at @Kings_College at @Cambridge_Uni 🐝
