If a student’s CAG was a U then fair enough, but one of the most disgraceful things about this whole process has been students awarded a U, a failing grade for 2 years work, because historically some people fail the exam.
@buddleoffun I was fortunate and only had one downgrade - A* to A (cos no one at LSC gets A*s in cs heh) so I managed to meet my Oxford offer, but my friends and classmates (some of whom are in this article!!) got grades that are absolutely in no way indicative of what I KNOW they would've got
I’m at a school in East London today where 47% of students have had results downgraded from teachers predictions. Some predicted Cs have been given a U. Some A* predictions reduced to a B.
Principal Gill Burbridge has said “It has been a very emotional day at LSC. I am so proud of our students and all they have achieved.” #resultsday2020#successatacaringcollege
Miriam achieved outstanding results to gain entry to Oxford University! She received an A* in Maths, Further Maths and Physics and an A in Computer Science. She is one of over 120 students to receive the highest grades. #resultsday2020#AlevelResults#successatacaringcollege
"47% of grades we submitted came back lower - out of about 1,400 A level entries"
The Principal of Leyton Sixth Form College says her students have been "disadvantaged" by the moderation process because of historical data for the college.
