@DanielPink I remember I accidentally left this book in a classroom I was subbing in at the time and when I came back for it the teacher said she’d taken it home to read because it was so interesting. I said keep it. It just one of those books. ♥️

@SoLInTheWild @SciInTheMaking I was on a team with a teacher that had boxes, posters and clutter everywhere. When we switched classes to reteach or enrich her students always complimented my room which had a few bits of art and a few blooming orchid plants. I hate visual clutter.

@fiago7 If anyone is wanting to visit the one near Dulles and doesn’t have a car, you can take the subway most of the way there and then transfer to a bus that takes you right to the museum’s doorstep. I absolutely loved visiting Udvar Hazi and the free tour we went on. 10/10.

@TerrenceDonahoe @AConcernedPare2 Along with what other people have said about having a bit of adult content, the book is 27.4 percent about welding. If your kid is really into welding that is a plus, but it got a bit tedious.

Math is relentlessly hierarchical. Student need a solid foundation.

Students need to know multiplication facts in 3rd grade. Without them, doing anything with fractions in 4th grade is hopeless. Multiplying and dividing fractions in 5th grade becomes hopeless. Moving on to algebra becomes hopeless. It literally only takes most sts a few weeks.

@karenonair @ScottPresler No! Just in the wash off the upper trailhead. About 8 years ago I did hike the short trail to Old Bauldy and did see some bear scat, but this was right where lots of people were.

@SciInTheMaking Having a scripted lesson can lessen teacher cognitive load. In this situation I can have more freedom of mind to adjust when appropriate. At least that’s the benefit I see. (As long as the lesson is a good one)
