This week's vote on the Nature Restoration Law in the European Parliament will go down in history.
👆@CiaranCuffe and I are asking YOU to put pressure on all MEPs to vote for a strong Nature Restoration Law on Wednesday

Out of 240 nations on Earth, Ireland ranks a catastrophic 13th from the bottom in how nature is doing.
My piece in today's @IrishTimes on why our need for the Nature Restoration Law could not be greater, and any MEPs who vote it down will be betraying us all, including farmers.

Seabed mining will cause irreversible damage to fragile deep sea ecosystems.
Help us stop this ecological catastrophe before it starts.

The report of the @CitizAssembly is now on line and contains some radial proposals and some that are not radical but are badly needed... here's a brief fly through the recommendations that particularly caught my eye...
Marketing is core to solving the Climate Crisis...
On this week's episode of Brave New Earth, @GreenSolitaire - founder of @futerra and author of The Solutionists - talks about the importance of creating Green Status symbols

Europe worst affected area of the world. With Ireland the worst in Europe. Ireland has lost 90% of its wetlands. It’s time to restore our wetlands. Block the drains. Turn the BnM pumps off. No more planting/replanting forestry on peatlands. @BordnaMona https://t.co/om54zz9sFC
Did I really hear the IPCC consensus on climate change being likened to the rejection of Galileo’s discoveries?
Jaw-dropping! Well done to @paulmurphy_TD for countering but he really shouldn’t have to debate the basics of climate change.
Gutted that @ecoeye will be no more. It has been an honour to work with such a committed team since 2015 making great TV& telling important stories.

I was on BBC 1 Panorama last night talking about data centres. Here is a short clip of the segment on Ireland in the programme.
Unfortunately RTÉ hasn't covered this issue so it's up to the BBC to actually expose the reality of data centres in Ireland.
@shellakeypookey She's awesome and a lot better and braver than I am. We keep bees here and a few times I've gone at them without the suit. Last time I got stung between the eyes and looked like the Elephant Man for 4 days...
This is a welcome intervention from @MichealMartinTD who admits that "we are not at the races in respect of meeting the biodiversity challenge just yet"
