@concise_wisdom@FanDuel_Racing@curtiskalleward@CalebFDTV That would be a good reason but why not try? With a three day weekend it’s possible more people might travel a little farther to be there in person. TV wouldn’t be affected
@Icecream76567@atTheTrack7 Good question. There are owners and groups that are active in aftercare programs that would avoid sending horses to slaughterhouses. Unfortunately, when the foal crops were bigger that happened. Hopefully never again
@DBYankees1@missmaryeliza I posted about this. 💯agree. I would try running the Preakness in three weeks and let NYRA decide whether they run two, three , or even four weeks after. Within five years they would have a good idea if it helped or not. Every winner is different. Some will still skip but try it
@stet_dot_net If sports betting hurt it’s because people realized they can bet at a 10% takeout vs 16-25%. In the casino when people say a slot machine is “tight” they mean it’s holding too much.
CAWs are the final nail.
Declining foal crops don’t help either
@atTheTrack7 Agreed. Your last sentence is the huge problem for racing. Winning a triple crown is not the issue. The economics of breeding is. A stallion can breed to as many mares as possible. In the past the covers were limited. Now a successful stallion can earn well over $25mil/yr.......
@RacingDFS I’m surprised no one would ask her that question. Each horse and their preparation was different so it’s possible some trainers would have gone if they won and their horses came out of the race ok.
@Tinky47flat@fatbaldguyracin Totally agree. Horses will frequently race two or three weeks apart in Europe and Australia where Lasix is permitted to train but must be out of the horse’s system to race.
@BillFinley3@Jackpotkimm People are pain adverse but this would be worth it. You have a microphone as do others. People should boycott the racetracks and not bet off track for one day, preferably a Saturday. Let the CAWs bet against themselves. Organize please
@TrackPhantom@Jackpotkimm Agreed. Just bet a lot less. It used to be the odds wouldn't move much in the last few minutes due to the large pool size. Not any more. If the size of the pools keep shrinking the CAWs will be betting against themselves.
@MikeMutnansky@Jackpotkimm I could be a little off but it seems that around $200K came in on that horse on the last flash based on the win pool size and the horse's win total. Only CAW could get down that much with seconds to go
@NFL I paid for NFL+ premium. I get a login verification email but need the password reset link email. I contacted support and all they did was send me a form email back basically saying sorry but no help. My email is not the issue. Please help. I’m trying to watch the draft.
@KennyMcPeek We should have a system like they have in Australia. You can bet through TAB, their parimutuel pool, or bookmakers at the track offering fixed odds. Competition is good. I was shopping for the best price on my horse. It felt good knowing I was locked in not worrying about CAW
@KennyMcPeek@EJXD2 What about three weeks in between races? It would be tough enough yet give horses time to recover so more horses may run in the Preakness. Others will still skip it to wait for the Belmont. Yes, there will be an extra week but more higher caliber horses may compete throughout
