The best missiology I've encountered came from a small Mexican-American Pentecostal church in California responding to Ukrainian refugees - no institutional backing, just Scripture and the Spirit. My new research on "Empowered Compassion" for @Empowered21 GNSES 🧵

What made it work: They read Scripture from the margins (been strangers themselves), experienced the Spirit practically (divine nudges solving logistics), and embodied the kingdom (one refugee: "you find a family, not just a service provider")

@wipfandstock Crucial point. Heresies like docetism and gnosticism tried to erase the ascension by denying Christ’s true humanity. But without the bodily ascension, we lose the link between incarnation, intercession, and mission. Torrance rightly saw it as central, not optional. 👑
