@getty_a96716@nguyenhdi Generally I share what I take to be Di’s view that this is a little cringey. There are informal elements to his language of course but these translations seem to me to point to the wrong style and register, not least because they are obvious clichés
On the same theme I think this is the novel (or trilogy of novels) I've most thoroughly enjoyed reading this year. Completely gripping, full of atmosphere, funny, painfully sharp and realistic about people
