@ericwolf3784@JRA2pair@RyanHanaWWP@AnsarKhanMLive Starting too high in a negotiation can cause as much friction as "lowballing" your counterparty. It's best to approach a negotiation from a reasonable position and work in a fashion that benefits both parties. Y is simply losing credibility and willingness to do deals with him
@NHLRumourReport What does Carolina have to offer? Why is it that out of all the Larkin teams, Minnesota is the only one people ever talk about the assets needed to get him.
@NonCultist1960@JaimeSean19@HeleneStJames The team would suffer greatly if he decides to sit out. Nobody will offer a center replacement because they likely want to pair that center with Larkin. Its much better to deal him now when you have a team ready to overpay value-wise instead of wait and diminish his value
@NonCultist1960@JaimeSean19@HeleneStJames If Yzerman wants Boldy (a younger, better, cheaper player), then yeah I hope Guerin laughs in his face then spits in it. But, if Stevie wants to make a good hockey move before Larkin's value starts tanking, then I hope you get to enjoy 2 really intriguing prospects and some 1sts
@yesac2004@realph_7@HeleneStJames "Free" is first round picks and NHL prospects. There's no reason Det can't take futures and flip them for pieces they want. Ottawa did it with their captain (younger and better btw). Yzerplan getting shown up by Ottawa.
@JaimeSean19@HeleneStJames See Ottawa. Traded for futures and flipped them for current assets. In waiting, Detroit has missed their window and now either take the futures or sit their 8 mil captain in the press box. Id rsther have NHL caliber prospects than a press box headache, down 8 mil in cap.
@tomtrina0929@wildfan328@MBottleMe@20EvilRoy Yurov has already played top 6 minutes in his rookie year and will play top 6 minutes on the Wild this season. Middle 6 on a stanley cup contender... pretty good for a 22yr old. Dont sell prospects short cause you want to squeeze blood from a stone...
Nick Kypreos: The Red Wings would have no problem trading Dylan Larkin to Minnesota if the Wild were prepared to part with Matt Boldy. Other than Boldy, there is nothing else Detroit GM Steve Yzerman is too interested in - Sportsnet (7/1)
@jordynbtw@TkachukFanAcc Since signing that deal, Hartman has played more shifts with Kirill Kaprizov than he has without. He simply hasn't been a bottom 6 forward on this team in several years, and he might be RW1 this season without Zuccerello
@BrandonMileski Not sure how Minnesota doesn't have the assets, but people saying Vegas does even after giving up Dorofyev? Vegas has the same, if not worse, to offer than MN.
Florida is holding Lundell, so same problem. Dallas would need to move off Robo which is dumb. Not sure Steve's holdup
@RussoHockey@AnthonyLaPanta@TalkNorthPod Would the Wild be interested in upgrading the defense through free agency (Assuming $$ is available)?
With the rumor of Brodin or Middleton being shipped out, does Mario Feraro look to be a good replacement on that second pair?
@domluszczyszyn Overpaid at 3.3? For a guy who is perfect for every role that team needs from their bottom 6? Center, PK, faceoffs, physicality, and has a drive to win.
Plus he is a locker room favorite in less than 2 months
Plus the UFA pool this year is BAD.
Overpay isn't the right word
