He waved back with terrifying enthusiasm.

Then he started walking toward me.

I realized I had absolutely never seen this man before.

Panic.

Instead of admitting it, I committed.

He got close enough to say, "Mate!"

I said, "Mate!"

He hugged me.

A woman next to us went, "Aw, haven't seen each other in ages?"

Neither of us corrected her.

He leaned into my ear and whispered, "I don't know who you are but this is easier."

We walked in opposite directions the second the train doors opened.

My sisters @Airbnb Arrowhead, CA experience last weekend, arrived to a dirty house, rodent presence w/droppings in utensil drawers, no hot water, pictures not accurately representing bedrooms etc etc. They sent a message to the owner, response “we are in Europe” then they sent a rep from the management co. who had to come several times to deal with the issues. So she is waiting around for them to show up, regarding the rodent “that’s mountain life”, what!?! Owner only offered reimbursement for the paper plates and plastic utensils they had to eat off of to avoid getting sick from the rodent droppings. I told her to file a complaint with @Airbnb because going through the old comments on the rental there were serious prior issues, RIDICULOUS!!! She stuck it out, I would have bailed!

It’s NO surprise Airbnb is losing revenue. Once the price matches a hotel, the value disappears. I’d rather have daily housekeeping, room service, and a front desk than a chore list and a cleaning fee.
