I am devastated to hear that James Valentine has died. He was one of the warmest and cleverest people I worked with at the ABC. He had a way of making people in his orbit, and his many listeners, feel valued and understood. He gave me a limerick segment on his radio show…
@MikeCarlton01 He's an absolute champion, a terrific human being. And this is a very good piece of journalism, he's taken something terrifying and painful and used it to shed light on the operation of the health system. I don't know if I'd have the guts to do that.
@TheCinesthetic Hard agree, one of my all time favourites, I’ve watched it half a dozen times and it just gets even more beautiful (also very violent though)
Robodebt flourished because of a political & media culture that stigmatises income support recipients. It was a failure in public sector leadership & culture in key departments. Labor must implement all 57 recommendations of the Robodebt RC to ensure Robodebt never happens again.
@PatMcGorry@Martin_Flanagan I agree, Lyons does very good work. I respect the right of his critics to disagree with his analysis on ideological grounds, but not to impugn his professionalism.
On ABC News just now @TheLyonsDen
"The Americans will probably be relying on Intelligence from Pine Gap in Australia, so will the Israelis. I think the Australian public deserves a straight answer from the Prime Minister. Do you support this war or not?"

The #abc cops criticism over declining standards from time to time but we should also recognise the important investigative work done by programs such @4corners 7-30 AM PM RN etc . Good work that creates change for the better.
Lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Respect to Greg Chappell for initiating the now famous letter addressed to the Government of Pakistan appealing for Imran Khan to be treated with dignity. This is a greater act than any he performed on the field. And he performed many.
This message, from @DavidPocock's Facebook page, is exactly the sort of thing the major party leaders should be saying.
And the sort of thing we should all be trying to live, I reckon.
