I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — this is why healthcare cost containment and lowering hospital prices matters 👏🏼 Congratulations @32BJSEIU@RABOLR!

The Fair Pricing Act lowers prices for pap smears, biopsies, ultrasounds, fetal tests, and more. These vital services are necessary for the early detection of life-threatening illnesses. New York women can't afford to wait. Let's take action on the Fair Pricing Act.

The Fair Pricing Act passed out of committee! Thank you to our amazing sponsors and the health committee for showing that healthcare affordability is a priority. Act now to tell your legislators to keep this momentum going!
Thank you to all our partners and the legislators helping to pass the Fair Pricing Act to ensure routine medical services stay routine in cost!
Runaway hospital prices cut into worker wages and threaten all New Yorkers’ access to affordable healthcare!
We’re on the bus headed to Albany to demand the NY Fair Pricing Act NOW.
Hospitals bought the market, patients are paying the price.
It’s past time to ensure routine medical services stay routine in cost.
Basic healthcare is unaffordable and inaccessible for too many New Yorkers, and we have the highest, most volatile healthcare prices in the country.
That's why I helped launch the nation's first municipal Office of Healthcare Affordability: to give purchasers and providers access to transparent pricing and real accountability.
Today, we joined @32BJSEIU and @NorthwellHealth to celebrate their new, innovative partnership — this is what affordable healthcare looks like in practice.
I was proud to welcome and meet with local @SEIU 32BJ members in DC as they attended today’s Ways & Means hearing with health system CEOs. Their presence helped shine a light on the real impact of rising health care costs on patients and families and pushed for greater accountability in the fight for affordability.
New Yorkers are already paying way too much for health care. If these allegations are true, they point to practices that drive up costs and limit choice — and that’s unacceptable.
It’s exactly why I passed legislation to create an Office of Healthcare Accountability to bring greater transparency to healthcare pricing and protect consumers.

We applaud the work of the DOJ Antitrust Division for bringing suit against NewYork-Presbyterian for their anti-competitive contracting practices. Working people and their families lose when big hospital systems and large insurance companies make confidential deals that limit the freedom of health funds, employers, and consumers to choose healthcare that is both high quality and affordable. In its investigation, DOJ found evidence that NYP recognizes the impact that these contracting clauses have on increasing its prices and financial standing and knows that payors have used the option of patient steerage in other markets to drive provider prices lower. Saying “No” to NYP’s plan restrictions will send the message that large hospital systems must compete based on quality and cost. And that will bring down the high cost of healthcare for all New Yorkers.
Our Coalition supports the efforts taken today to hold New York-Presbyterian accountable for their anti-competitive contracting restrictions, which drive up the cost of healthcare.
We must act when powerful hospital systems insulate themselves from market pressure and deploy contracting provisions that only benefit them. When hospitals buy the market, patients pay the price.

We applaud the innovative ways in which the @NYCMayor administration is approaching city spending, but there are more opportunities for savings. New York City is one of the largest healthcare purchasers in the state, and our city budget is feeling the consequences of rising healthcare costs, just like the rest of us.
The New York Coalition for Affordable Hospitals unites unions, advocates, and community organizations against unaffordable and unreasonable healthcare costs.
Earlier this month, coalition members testified before the Joint Health Committee in favor of the Fair Pricing Act.

We are in Albany speaking with legislators about why NY urgently needs the Fair Pricing Act to make routine hospital procedures more affordable!
The biggest threat to 32BJ members' access to health care is the unaffordable cost – driven primarily by high hospital prices.
@32BJSEIU President Manny Pastreich at Families USA #HAC2026 speaking on the importance of addressing the root cause of rising healthcare costs—hospital prices.
For years, @32BJSEIU and I have worked to lower healthcare costs across our city.
32BJ’s powerful new partnership with @NorthwellDirect expands access to affordable, high-quality healthcare for their members — demonstrating that we can make this a reality for every New Yorker.

The Fair Pricing Act, sponsored by Assemblymember Chantel Jackson (@Chantelj79) and Senator Liz Krueger (@LizKrueger), caps prices for certain routine medical procedures at 150% of the Medicare rate, which can mean big savings for patients, employers, and unions.
