If people really want kids back in school, we should vaccinate all of the children. Then the virus would not spread to staff or parents. Just need the science to back up that it would be safe.
There are lots of reasons a COVID test can be falsely negative: low viral load; tested too soon or too late; not enough sample collected; failure during sample processing or measurement; randomness.
There are fewer reasons for a false positive: sample contamination, randomness.

Herd immunity didn’t develop to cholera, yellow fever, smallpox, measles, TB, malaria, or plague -> public health measures were used to control them until vaccines or elimination strategies were developed.
