Six months after agreeing to a $575 million settlement in a landmark antitrust case, Sutter Health has yet to pay a single dollar and now says the terms may be untenable, given the strain caused by the pandemic.

WARNING TO BUSINESS OWNERS: Some insurers are sending out questionnaires to insured businesses regarding suspended operations due to COVID-19, asking whether there was direct physical loss/damage to property. DO NOT RETURN THESE, as doing so may jeopardize insurance recovery!
@Dschwarcz Are you serious? That’s horrible! Plus it’s the INSURERS responsibility to investigate the claim fully and fairly - not ask the insured baited questions. Deplorable.
I strongly agree that the federal government should promote the availability of future pandemic business interruption insurance. But the best way to do this is to mandate coverage in ordinary BI policies and backstop this coverage with federal reinsurance.
The idea that pandemic related business interruption losses are "inherently uninsurable" (as insurers are claiming) even with a massive federal reinsurance backstop is simply disingenuous. https://t.co/X37TD5YCpy
