Had the privilege to interview @Svigel about his book on eschatology in the Church Fathers. Here is a 90 second snippet of the interview. His book will be a very important resource!
"Error, indeed, is never set forth in its naked deformity, lest, being thus exposed, it should at once be detected. But it is craftily decked out in an attractive dress, so as, by its outward form, to make it appear to the inexperienced...more true than the truth itself." Irenรฆus
Since there's been some wider interest in my recent FB posts regarding Preterism and Kenneth Gentry's new Revelation commentary. I decided to post my thoughts on my actual blog, for easier access. https://t.co/JVKYkOcQDG
I saw an intriguing post by @miskaw on Facebook today concerning Preterism. Everyone knows that the evidence from the early church is primarily premillennial, but Miska helpfully notes that Irenaeus is very specific and detailed in arguing against those he thinks are wrong in their theological viewpoints (i.e., Against Heresies). Perhaps surprisingly, despite being premillennial, Irenaeus doesn't mention that anyone held to preterism on Matthew 24 or Revelation. That seems a bit strange to me if this was a viewpoint held in the early church. This seems to be a pretty strong indication that preterism was a late development in the church.
May God give The @MastersSeminary the grace to hold the line and not compromise the truth as all other seminaries have been prone to do over time. https://t.co/diGBBzwrS2
