Had some assessments I was really struggling to mark - have run them & the marking criteria through a few AI tools to get some inspiration for feedback, it’s fantastic! To clarify I’m still reading all S’s work and I’m marking but I’m getting a new perspective from each tool too
So far I have marked 74 long response papers (and fieldwork booklets) this weekend. I am down to the last 5 and I cannot for the life of me concentrate long enough to read one full paper. I think this is what it means to have broken my brain
Excited to be taking on some wellbeing roles over the next few terms but secretly terrified I’ve signed myself up to something way out of my depth as an ECT
Up until now I thought nothing I said was going in. Usually disengaged & uncaring in class, but something must have gone through! Guess I’m not doing as bad a job with them as I thought.
This will teach me not to judge a book by its cover, shld have high expectations for all!
Started marking y10 tasks. Had the top class last semester, high expectations and was sadly disappointed by quite a lot of responses. This semester I have a mixed ability, very distracted seemingly somewhat lazy class - have only marked 6 papers, but they are smashing it so far.

Nothing much, but… just had a really good day today. Nothing special, still some behaviour issues etc but a great collaborative environment in the staffroom and good vibes all round. Some days are cloudy, but some days can be sunny too ☀️😊
Hard to believe this week makes a year at my school. Started as in intern in one faculty, ended up working in another. Been lots of ups and downs, but as I think back on the butterflies I was feeling a year ago I’m so grateful to be doing what I love (most of the time!)
We’ve been playing around in our staffroom this week with different AI tools. Here are our favourites🧵 - please add yours too! I’m sure there’a lots of great tools out there to make teacher’s life easier
