Only 55% of young people tell their parents after a negative online experience. Help your child feel more comfortable to start a conversation with you, reassure that they won’t be in trouble if they come to you and that together you’ll find help. https://t.co/T6vJ5Mqc4Z #ncpw
I believe that a child should never be told to simply stop crying. They need to know that their emotions are important and valid and that they are always supported.

Drawing is a tool I have been utilising within my Kinder room. I have found that it’s helps to children to add meaning to their writing and helps them to show their understand of a topic when their writing skills can’t.

Want students to remember something? Ask them to draw it! Research shows that drawing boosts learning by forcing us to process information in multiple ways: visually, kinesthetically, and linguistically.
We’ve made our declarations for the @DanielMorcombe#TogetherWeCan campaign, advocating for the right for children and young people to feel safe!

Is violence against teachers on the rise?
It's a question we're asking after a teacher was stabbed by a parent in Byron Bay.
If you're a teacher, lecturer or principal - we want to know your experiences and if your institutions have enforced any policies to address the issue.
With ANZAC Day coming up I thought I would share this book. It’s a beautiful tool to use in the classroom. Each illustration represents a different war time, as shown in the images attached.

A fb friend posted this question last night and we had a discussion about it. The second image is my initial response, and the third a secondary response to her reply. I’d be interested to know what others in the teaching profession think #ACUedu_p
I ran a lesson like this on my Year 5 prac and tied it to their class novel Wonder by R.J. Palacio. It really is a highly effective and fun lesson! The children were engaged and really understood the message! #ACUedu_P
