And so the rollercoaster ride continues. I have @etihad reaching out to me to provide my tickets info only to have them tell me ICP is who rejected. And when I share the screenshot from ICP stating Etihad rejected, they asked to continue working with the ICP. Doesn’t make sense.

@etihad senior customer service personnel we spoke to told us to “sort it with the visa team.” But the visa team is literally part of their own platform. How can you push customers in circles for weeks, then wash your hands clean?

Now we’re stuck in an airport with a 1day 20hour layover, we can’t leave the airport because we couldn't get a visa promoted and rejected (per ICP) by @etihad, and then they won’t take responsibility. The only solution offered was for me to pay £375 to change our ticket

My sister called ICP herself. They again confirmed: aviation rejected it, not them. We tried agencies to help us get a tourist visa. Both told us they don't work with Nigerians, because the possibility of getting an approval is 50/50.

We applied again, thinking maybe it was my BRP expiry date (Dec 2024) or maybe they didn’t know how to use the share code (which shows my valid status). We reapplied. Rejected again. This time in under 2 hours.

We went back to VisaOnline with this proof. Again, they responded: The Federal Authority rejected your application. At this point, we’d wasted nearly 2 weeks and were stuck in a mess we didn’t create.

@etihad Tweet 6: We called VisaOnline back and pushed for the number. After insisting, VisaOnline suddenly "found" the application number. We took it to ICP. ICP checked and confirmed: the rejection didn’t come from them, it came from the aviation company (image attached).

The only application number we had was from VisaOnline/Etihad. ICP said that’s not valid. We called VisaOnline, they said they don’t have the number. Called ICP back and they then told us that if they don’t have it, it means VisaOnline did not submit an application.

We contacted ICP (UAE immigration). They told us to raise a complaint on their site. We did. It got closed and said "email us." We emailed. The email said "raise a complaint." This circle happened THREE TIMES. We called again. They asked for our "application number."

We submitted all required documents: passport info, passport photos, ongoing flight details, and my UK BRP with the https://t.co/Juq2ynkgSk share code. A few hours later, the visa was rejected without explanation. We asked why. They said ICP rejected it.

I called ahead to confirm if we were eligible. They said yes, but as Nigerians, we’d need a 48hr transit visa, and we could apply after booking. So we booked the tickets. Applied for the visa through the official https://t.co/C0gubWXBz7 link on Etihad’s site.
