@JSerravallo my colleagues and I are pre-service teachers at CSU and we are conducting research on how to improve writing wrkshops and peer feedback. We would love to chat with you about this after using your books as resources in our class!

One of favorite teachers was my American history teacher. He made lectures so fun and I never knew I could love history as much as I did until I was learning it from him. #educ331
I think also during this time we have to figure out ways to show our students they don’t always need to be on technology to be learning. Even though technology is common medium of learning and communication we should help find other alternatives so there’s no burnout #educ331
I think one thing that we definitely debate a lot is ‘how involved should we allow our parents to be in these situations’ and now more than ever is a time to examine that narrative and connect with our parents, not just the students. #EDUC331
Really interesting that we automatically assume that since we have internet access in our homes, we extend that assumption to every student we encounter. Might be worthwhile to examine other assumptions we may make in that regard ;) #educ331
I think we need to realize that some students may not have internet or access to internet in any circumstance, so being able to provide assignments that can either be completed in class or on paper is beneficial #educ331
Wanted to drop a quick thank you to all our educators, administrators, superintendents, classifieds, etc. Even when decisions are tough, you’re doing the best you can for our students! Thank you! 💗
Schools often spend lots of time teaching kids with special needs how to interact with their peers. What if we considered teaching ALL kids how to interact with ALL their peers, promoting inclusion, acceptance, empathy, and kindness? #JoyfulLeaders
2nd grader: “Ms. Freeman? Who is your favorite artist?”
me: “hmm that’s hard. I have a lot”
Ss: “If you had to pick one, who would it be?”
me: “Probably, Mckalane Thomas, she makes cool collages. Who would yours be?”
Ss: “You! Duh. You’re the best artist I know!” #whyiteach

Yesterday I saw a student for the first time in awhile, she's been out of school.
Instead of saying: "Where have you been?" or "Why have you been gone?
I greeted her with "I miss you!"
Her face literally LIT up. 😀
Let's remember our words have power so choose them wisely.
