Oh wow that’s me. What an enjoyable and rewarding conversation to get to be a part of. So enjoyed getting to think deeply about our industry and how we could make it better with two wonderful people (@missandreart and @mhsutaylor) ❤️😍❤️
also, shout out to the part that follows where Melinda, Andra, and Malek talk about apologies and acknowledgements in the work place!!!!! If you can't listen to the whole episode, jump in at 11:30 and give a listen on that.
SUCH a great listen. While I haven't gotten to officially work w/ @missandreart, she is a delight, warm and encompassing each time we cross paths. it can be easy to see someone outwardly thriving and forget that they too can feel unprepared to be seen as big and bold as they are.
It was an honor to share in a beautiful and productive conversation with two colleagues I adore. Please check out @MalekMouzon and I's episode of @mhsutaylor's leadership podcast! This is one of my favorite topics ❤️
On this week's Lead With Kindness, showrunner Andrea Thornton Bolden & writer Malek Mouzon discuss how to address dysfunctions ranging from quiet microaggressions to overtly hostile behavior in the workplace. Good news: trust can be regained. Find out how https://t.co/dYGn9pBK5i
Thanks @moryan@ATXFestival for inspiring me to host Lead With Kindness, launching Nov 8. Ten 30-min eps about changing Hollywood via: kindness that creates impactful leadership, inclusive environments & elevated results. Apple, Spotify, IG @leadwkindness https://t.co/DVf3n5eAjl
Feel good about tonight’s WGA Showrunner meeting. Real commitment to stay strong & connected. All grateful to the LL & Mid levels who were the backbone of the strike. So much of this deal is for the next generation and we need to do our part to guide, mentor and EMPLOY.
Governor @GavinNewsom's veto of #SB799 is a dismissal of the working people that have supported him. For 148 days, members of the WGA struck against companies who intended to drive writers into financial ruin. 1/2
So let’s get back to work WGA and remember what we built as a community together for 148 days. Let’s rebuild. Promote your support staff. Train/mentor lower level and mid level writers. Hire Black, Brown, Queer and Disabled writers. Make the pipeline a pipeline again. Let’s go!
Thinking of all the Lower Level and Mid Level writers who went through their entire savings to stay afloat. Who have to rebuild their careers and their savings. You got this!
Anyways, something I learn these past five months on strike is that there’s actually a lot of inherently good people in this business who just want to write & there’s community here. And we take care of each other and I hope we don’t forget that as we all get back to work.
