These two boys from 6RG enjoyed cooking spaghetti bolognese for the first time recently. They were certainly intrigued by the addition of fresh red chilli! πΆοΈ

Another busy week with Y6! Where is the time going? In art they had a go at hand casting and for healthy eating week they baked some nutritious carrot cake cookies!
We finally got around to installing the wonderful Japanese Zen inspired tiles on the outside of school, all of which can be viewed from Cambridge Street. Well done Y6 and thank you to my little helpers from 6B who helped me stick the tiles up! (I needed it π ) @CambridgeSch
6B have been designing and making clay gargoyles that they might find in gothic architecture such as on cathedrals and churches. @CambridgeSch@MrBanks_CPS
6B tried their hand at painting with wool this afternoon, a task that requires lots of patience! Needless to say, they rose to the challenge and we can't wait to see the finished results! @CambridgeSch@MrBanks_CPS
6RG's wonderful Parisian landscapes and landmarks! The children are learning to slow down and really take their time adding detail. @MrsRitchie_CPS@MrsGrovesCPS@CambridgeSch
Following on from their Paris artwork, 6B created surreal mixed media collages inspired by French artist, Salvador Dali. The children especially enjoyed looking for hidden imagery in his paintings and tried to replicate this. @CambridgeSch@MrBanks_CPS
Last week, 6B sketched Parisian landscapes and landmarks. This linked to the book: The Invention of Hugo Cabret, which they have been studying in English. I was very impressed by their attention to detail! @CambridgeSch@MrBanks_CPS
Our amazing new ISports Wall to get everyone active not just in PE but other subjects too! Here are our Y6βs testing it out today with a simple relay race! ππΌ Kids loved it! #EastersideActive
Some more wonderful painted tiles from 6RG. They've worked really hard and I hope they are proud of what they have achieved. We can't wait to display them outdoors!

We have some amazing artists in 6B! We started to transfer our designs onto individual tiles using ceramic paints this afternoon and although some of us were a little anxious to use the paints, they persevered with fabulous results! #trusttheprocess#childrensart@MrBanks_CPS
6B had a lovely calming start to the afternoon as we explored #mindfulness through art inspired by Japanese #Zen. The class enjoyed painting while soothing music played. This is the start of a project that will leave their mark on the school for years to come! @MrBanks_CPS
A work in progress but how fantastic is this piece of Angu Walters inspired artwork already? The young man from 6RG had missed some of our practice lessons but got stuck straight in today. He was so proud of himself, he asked me for a copy to take home! Well done KW π
I was really pleased with 6RG's 'give it a go' attitude in our Art lesson this afternoon. They tried really hard to imitate the patterns and symmetry of the artists and are excited to move on and begin creating their own final pieces.
6RG have had a great start to our African Art topic, comparing the artists Angu Walters and Esther Mahlangu. Today they looked at some colour theory and experimented with complementary, harmonious and monotonous colours. #Y6#ks2art
Without a doubt, Autumn is by far my favourite time of year. I just love wearing a few more layers to wrap up cosy and walking my dog through the crunchy leaves of gold and orange. This excerpt from George Cooper's 'October gave a party' sums it up perfectly:
